The Director will help oversee programming for SAMPE’s North America and global events, manage the peer-review process for the SAMPE Journal, support our technical committees and volunteers, and supervise a small staff team. You’ll work closely with marketing, events, and membership teams to ensure programming reflects SAMPE’s high standards for quality, accessibility, and relevance to industry and academia.
Key Responsibilities
Serve as the primary staff liaison to the TAP, the Technical Excellence Committee (TEC), and Technical Committees—coordinating meetings, communications, and follow-up actions.
Collaborate with TAP to identify future content themes, knowledge gaps, and technical focus areas.
Translate TAP recommendations into actionable and relevant educational programming, technical sessions, and publication content.
Serve as staff lead for the SAMPE Journal peer-review process.
Support the Editor-in-Chief and editorial board in managing manuscript workflows, timelines, and reviewer coordination.
Track journal engagement and ensure the publication aligns with SAMPE’s technical and strategic priorities.
Oversee the implementation of technical programming for SAMPE’s North America and global conferences; provide support and alignment guidance for other regional events as needed.
Coordinate speakers, sessions, and ensure alignment with SAMPE's strategic content roadmap.
Design and deliver educational resources including but not limited to technical webinars, training modules, and published content for professionals at all career stages.
Ensure accessibility and consistency of educational programming across global audiences.
Promote cross-committee collaboration and consistency of messaging and focus.
Coordinate with SAMPE regional staff and volunteers to ensure high technical standards and knowledge sharing across all SAMPE regions.
Ensure inclusive practices in the recruitment of speakers and authors worldwide.
Track and analyze performance metrics for technical and educational programs, including attendance, satisfaction, and engagement.
Use data to drive continuous improvement and report on programming success to leadership and the Board.
Hire, supervise, and mentor two staff members who support education and technical content operations.
Manage program budgets and coordinate contracts with consultants and vendors to support implementation.
Additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed in support of SAMPE’s strategic priorities.
