The ACVECC (American College of Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care) VECCS (Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care Society) Joint Educational Initiatives Program Manager will be a 0.8 FTE role, responsible for the pre-launch, launch, and initial management of three educational programs for emergency veterinarians over a 24-month time period with the possibility of extension. The candidate must have proven project management skills with a demonstrated and sustained ability to drive efficiency and to meet deadlines accurately.
Working closely with the ACVECC Director of Educational Initiatives and the VECCS Director of Certificate Programs, the Program Manager will create and execute project plans that translate strategy into educational opportunities to foster the professional growth of emergency veterinarians and impact the profession.
The Projects:
Two world-leading organizations in the field of Emergency and Critical Care (ECC), the American College of Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care (ACVECC) and the Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care Society (VECCS), are collaborating on joint educational initiatives aimed at providing veterinarians increased opportunities for career growth and fulfillment in the field of Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care (ECC).
The Initiatives consist of three distinct programs in development:
Advanced Emergency Veterinarian Certificate Program: a cohort-based 2-year certificate program for experienced emergency veterinarians that comprises self-paced digital and synchronous webinar-based content and assessments with possible in-person skill building. This program is the top priority for this role.
Early Career Emergency Veterinarian Training Program Accreditation: an accreditation system for existing employer-delivered training programs for emergency veterinarians who are in the early stage of developing their ECC skills.
Foundations: 40+ hours of on-demand self-paced digital content directed at students, veterinarians and other veterinary professionals developing a foundational knowledge of veterinary emergency and critical care.
Key Responsibilities:
Serve as primary liaison to the ACVECC Director of Educational Initiatives and the VECCS Director of Certificate Programs to manage the design, development, and delivery of three educational programs which include online synchronous and asynchronous content, webinars, in-person skills labs, and an accreditation process.
Communicate program goals, progress, and outcomes to internal and external stakeholders.
Coordinate and act as a primary contact for key stakeholders and learners
Prepare budgets and present regular budget reports to the Boards, and help implement needed adjustments to meet financial targets.
Collaborate to develop a plan to expand (scale) programs as dictated by strategic plan.
Design marketing briefs in collaboration with marketing and communications staff.
Collaborate with the instructional designer and LMS Administrator to document the operational procedures relating to content production and RACE accreditation.
Develop data-driven processes to continuously improve program quality and relevance.
Perform other duties as assigned by ACVECC and VECCS.
Requirements:
Deep administrative background with sustained attention to detail, consistently meeting deadlines, and interacting with staff, membership, and contracted partners with a high level of diplomacy and effectiveness. Experience working as an executive administrative assistant and/or office manager preferred.
Demonstrated strong project management and operational skills; certification in Project Management Institute® Certification or the equivalent a plus.
Experience preparing and managing budgets and financial reports required.
Ability to work successfully in a remote environment required. The manager is expected to be available during business hours, but flexibility is provided with clear advanced communication with the ACVECC Director of Educational Initiatives and the VECCS Director of Certificate Programs.
Familiarity and proficiency with Google Workspace, PowerPoint, Zoom, learning management systems (TopClass a plus), and relational databases and project management software such as Asana, Airtable, and Monday.
Familiarity with legal and regulatory requirements for educational and non-profit organizations.
Proficiency in using Project Management methods such as Waterfall and Agile or the equivalent a plus.
Experience in veterinary medicine and/or medical education is a plus.
Bachelor's degree or the equivalent in a relevant field.
