The Project Manager is responsible for supporting and advancing SME Committees in alignment with the organization’s strategic goals and objectives. The Project Manager oversees and engages SME Committees in the planning, development, and execution of initiatives including, but not limited to: Conferences/Events, Publications, Media/Digital Programs, and Forums.
The Project Manager is responsible for a variety of strategic activities. This position requires a high level of independence and the ability to manage multiple projects that involve diverse constituencies. This position manages all aspects of planning, scheduling, organizing, directing and managing timelines and milestones of defined projects.
This position is responsible for managing and supporting SME’s technology and industry initiatives through development of the technical activities strategy and providing technical expertise to help facilitate activities.
MAJOR FUNCTIONS
Gathers and organizes information on manufacturing technologies and applications to share with staff members in support initiatives.
Participates in key industry events to build industry contacts and visibility for SME, and further our mission.
Manages volunteer group activities including online and in person meetings. Activities surrounding meeting management include developing meeting agendas, materials, action items, follow up activities and post meeting notes.
Recruits and engages technical volunteers and thought leaders for various committees and project involvement
Organizes, administers, and participates in Community and committee teleconferences as well as in person meetings.
Develops and maintains relationships with industry members and high-level executives.
Travels to on-site meetings to lead and support.
Manages multiple projects simultaneously. This position reviews project objectives, controls activities and expenses, and manages deadlines.
Independently solves problems.
Other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM EDUCATION, SKILL, AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor's degree in a relevant field required
2-4 years in project management role
Excellent conceptualization and synthesis skills
Proficient computer skills and abilities with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) and Project Management software
Ability to work in a matrix environment
Effective interpersonal and organizational skills
Strong project management skills. Must be able to plan, organize, and lead projects
Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to maintain confidentiality
Understanding of technology and industry market trends and conditions
Strong business planning and budgeting skills
Fully demonstrating experience Program and Project Management methodologies, processes and tools
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Normal office environment
Regular, in-person attendance required
