This position is responsible for the overall planning, development, budgeting, and execution of the Society’s content development and delivery. This includes online learning, in-person programming and publications. The director leads the delivery of high-quality content to meet the evolving learning and professional development needs of the marketing and business development leaders in the A/E/C industry. This position also works with and manages the Editorial Committee.
The position will build upon current solutions and develop new, leading-edge programs and offerings to meet the evolving needs of our members and industry.
Curates the Society’s existing in-person and online conferences, course offerings, learning curricula, workshops, and other initiatives.
Curates content for the MARKETER
Plans and implements new and timely, relevant and impactful, and networking-oriented programs aligned with the Society’s strategic plan and departmental strategies.
Employs creativity and well-honed marketing skills to draft compelling, promotable, sellable products and services.
Provides high-level support to assigned Society volunteer committees who are charged with content development and fulfillment.
Manages content development of all publications.
Research and Trends. Stays current on the best practices and emerging trends relating to in-person and digital adult learning, synchronous and asynchronous learning, learning technology, and other relevant areas. Implements innovative techniques to serve the needs of A/E/C professionals.
Secures high-profile subject matter experts as program speakers who inform, inspire, and support Society members. Develops innovative, practical training materials and conducts proactive outreach to guide and support speakers throughout the content development process.
Continuing Education Units (CEU). Manages continuing education units, content development, and application and compliance strategies and processes for in-person and online events.
Contributes meaningfully to strategic planning efforts, conceptualizes and implements long-term goals, objectives, and metrics (needs assessment) to ensure successful outcomes in alignment with the Society’s strategic plan and business unit strategies.
Collaborates across business units and engages externally with key Society leaders, sponsors, alliance partners, and other stakeholders to develop, continuously improve, and maintain educational content serving the Society’s mission and strategies.
Program Operations. Works closely with the logistics team, vendors, and contractors to ensure effective and on-budget delivery of live and virtual programming.
Supports the marketing strategies team to develop well-tailored marketing messages and communications that provide visibility and ensure the success of programs and events.
Project Management. Establishes and manages timelines, process documents/playbooks, and other effective organizational tactics. Consistently meets deadlines.
This position requires experience in developing and managing a wide variety of educational and informational programs from small, face-to-face programs to large-scale, multi-faceted conferences as well as online and remote learning. A working knowledge of adult learning theory and how it can be appropriately applied in a variety of learning environments is required.
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
Bachelor’s degree and/or equivalent experience.
5-8 years of related project management and program coordination experience.
Prior experience integrating adult learning principles into continuing education activities, demonstrating compliance with accreditation requirements and standards for continuing education.
Excellent organizational, planning, project management, communications skills, and follow-through abilities.
Self-directed, highly professional, and collaborative.
Solid problem-solving, analytical, and time-management skills.
Demonstrated ability to prioritize and complete a high volume of work and meet deadlines and attention to detail.
Proactive approach and ability to think things through, anticipate solutions and next steps, and see the bigger picture.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
Familiarity with desktop publishing using Adobe applications is a plus (e.g., Acrobat, InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, etc.)
Familiarity with email marketing tools such as Mailchimp
Familiarity with and updating website platforms such as WordPress
Association and learning management system (LMS) experience is strongly preferred
