The Financial Director is responsible for overseeing the financial functions of the National Association of Dental Plans (NADP) and the California Association of Dental Plans (CADP). this includes overseeing and enhancing financial operations, including investments, budgeting, reporting, accounting, and ensuring compliance with audits, financial guidelines, and regulations. The FD develops organization-wide policies and procedures relating to finance, accounting, purchasing, and ensuring that NADP and CADP staff perform within those guidelines and policies. The FD reports to NADP's Executive Director and CADP's Executive Director and is a member of NADP's senior team. The FD participates in the association's strategic planning processes, presents to the Board of Directors on financial matters, and maintains constructive relationships with other association staff and member companies.
NADP has stable membership, excellent reserves, strong staff, and a history of clean audits.
Bachelor's degree in relevant field
CPA (Certified Public Accountant) preferred
10 years professional experience, preferably in non-profit environment
Demonstrated strategic thinking, problem solving, and analytical skills
Ability to gather, interpret, analyze and report on financial data
Excellent interpersonal, verbal, written, organizational and computer skills
Experience with SAGE preferred
Skill in meeting the needs of members, customers, and stakeholders
Proficiency in managing financial resources in keeping within budget.
Experience working with association management/membership database preferred.
