The International Municipal Signal Association (IMSA) is seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Certification & Education to lead the strategic and operational systems, processes and educational components of our certification programs. Reporting to the Executive Director, this position will identify certification and educational opportunities that align with the association’s goals and objectives.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Budget management – Manage and oversee development of certification and education budget including online and in-person offerings.
Program and certification development – Collaborate with volunteers, subject matter experts and committees on the development and maintenance of IMSA’s educational programs and certification exams. Evaluate and recommend new and/or enhanced offerings.
Annual Forum & Expo – Oversee development and scheduling of technical sessions. Manage certification exam prep courses to include working with moderators and scheduling. Participate in conference planning.
Reporting/Tracking – Provide regular updates to staff, committees and board of directors.
Volunteer Support – Serve as the liaison to the Educational Advisory Committee, Technical Advisory Committee and other volunteer groups as needed.
Team leadership – Manage certification team (new and renewals). Provide guidance and support and identify growth and professional development opportunities.
Project Management – Demonstrated ability to lead approved projects and deliver on time and within budget.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a management position with a focus on certification, credentialing or licensure.
Experience with association management systems (AMS) and learning management systems (LMS).
Strategic thinker with excellent analytical and project management skills.
