Purpose of Position
The Vice President is responsible for the imaging Government Affairs team and regulatory strategy. The position develops strategies and plans with specific legislative, regulatory, technical, and public affairs outcomes.
Essential Duties of Position
The core functions of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:
Policy Development and Strategy Implementation
Principal staff official accountable for crafting relevant and impactful execution plans focused on process improvement to meet future challenges and opportunities
Collaborate with broader MedTech team to create approaches that will achieve advantageous outcomes for Members
Builds effective and persistent personal lines of communication with, and access to, key government personnel and offices, the FDA and HHS/Center for Medicare & Medicaid Services
Builds ad hoc coalitions with outside organizations to extend the reach and effect of Imaging policy initiatives
Proactively authors white papers and similar original intellectual property (IP) documents
Manages Assigned Committees
Leads designated imaging committees and associated task forces; crafts annual strategic goals and outcome-driven work plans in accordance with AdvaMed’s meeting guidelines.
Develops with committee leaders consensus positions that will create winning arguments/campaigns that achieve desired outcomes in government agency decisions
Hybrid Work Policy: Minimum 1 day onsite per week
Travel Requirements: 10% Domestic and International
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Demonstrated aptitude for and skilled in change management; conversant in challenges and opportunities facing imaging industry
Specific knowledge of regulatory approaches and internal processes of relevant offices in HHS/Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services and the Food and Drug Administration
Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to communicate technical information in compelling manner while exhibiting strong executive presence
Exceptional management and planning skills, ability to lead teams, shape consensus positions and achieve progress toward aggressive organizational goals
Strong time management skills, manages multiple projects and meets challenging deadlines while demonstrating a positive approach
Motivated to seek additional personal growth and apply unconventional creativity
