Who We Are: The mission of National Women in Roofing (NWiR) is to empower women in the roofing industry. NWiR is a volunteer-based organization that supports and advances the careers of women roofing professionals, from manufacturing to design to installation, investigation to repair to management, and every step in between. Who We are Seeking: Reporting to the Board of Directors, the full-time Executive Director will lead and advance NWIR’s mission and growth. NWIR seeks a drive visionary who is mission aligned – prepared to assume this pivotal leadership role, as the we transition from a start-up of 7 years to a fully established association with nearly 2,500 members. The Executive Director will lead the strategic planning process, providing overall management of timelines and resources needed to achieve NWIR’s goals. The Executive Director will also have overall responsibility for the strategic, operational, and financial direction for the organization. The ideal candidate will possess, or have the capacity to develop a deep understanding, of the unique challenges faced by women in the roofing industry.
Key Responsibilities & Qualities:
Fiscal Administration, Acumen & Oversight The Executive Director will have strong financial and business acumen ideally informed by direct experience leading a professional membership organization. This individual will contribute knowledge of best-in-class management practices, including fiscal management, compliance requirements, and accountability. With strong organizational skills, the Executive Director will ensure the necessary infrastructure and support are available to meet the organization’s short- and long-term organizational needs.
Organizational Management & Strategic Leadership Our next leader thinks and plans strategically, seizes new opportunities, and consistently assesses the organization’s efforts to optimize programs, services, and advocacy to deliver impact. This leader will leverage and develop the Board, identify gaps and areas for opportunity, exhibit sound judgment, and position the organization to maximize impact.
Collaborative Team Player The Executive Director will be a collaborative, engaged listener and relationship builder. They will possess dynamic, effective interpersonal and communication skills to inspire trust and confidence to grow and sustain excellent relationships with internal and external constituents.
In This Role You Will:
Work with the Board of Directors to design, articulate, and implement NWIR’s shortand long-term vision, strategy, and goals.
Develop appropriate infrastructure, systems, and operational processes, setting high standards for effectiveness, efficiency, accountability, and excellence.
Play a key role in growing existing programs along with facilitating and developing new ideas into clear programs and long-term strategies.
Oversee budgeting and financial reporting, along with ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements; Share insights to help drive best practices, appropriate planning, and well-informed decision making.
Implement evaluation frameworks utilizing data-driven insights to inform decision-making, drive continuous improvement, and increase the NWIR’s overall effectiveness.
Serve as primary spokesperson for the organization, alongside the Executive Committee, effectively communicating its mission and impact to various stakeholders.
Build and amplify the organization’s signature events, positive impact and reputation; and create and execute scalable, models for convenings.
Grow NWIR’s fundraising capacity by identifying, cultivating, and stewarding sponsors – continuing to expand the sponsorship program.
Oversee all aspects of membership acquisition, engagement, and retention; Develop and implement strategies to attract new members, developing, enhancing, and promoting members benefits and services to address current and impending member needs, ensuring high levels of member satisfaction.
Manage the contracted association management firm overseeing programs, events, etc.; Work in tandem with the organization’s legal counsel to ensure documents, operations, fiduciary issues are maintained and addressed.
