Position Summary
The Associate works directly with the Chief Financial Officer to implement general accounting and financial procedures. This position exercises a high degree of accuracy to ensure sound fiscal execution.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
Perform day to day activities related to the Accounts Payable function, ensuring all invoices are allocated to the appropriate accounting code and managed according to internal policy
Perform day to day activities related to Accounts Receivable function, including monitoring customer accounts, AR aging, and revenue recognition
Process travel and corporate credit card expenses
Manage lockbox and merchant batch transactions
Manage dues and non-dues billing and collection process
Perform multiple monthly revenue reconciliations and ensure timely reporting of all monthly financial information
Respond to and resolve internal and external inquiries
Partner with Chief Financial Officer to ensure a timely year-end audit, including preparation and field work
Maintain vendor records and payments, and manage the annual 1099 reporting process
Share insights and recommendations regarding organizational fiscal stewardship
Prepare special financial reports, as requested
Carry out financial administrative duties, as needed
Assist other team members with other projects as needed
Provide project management support for relevant department projects, as needed
Execute mid-level general ledger account reconciliations
Maintain and update accounting records and files
Post transactions and categorize records in the general ledger
Prepare documents for audits
Prepare general ledger entries by maintaining records and files as well as reconciling accounts
Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting, preferred
Five years of general accounting or related experience
Experience working in a fast-paced/collaborative environment, managing multiple priorities
Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)
Familiarity with credit card processing and relevant accounting systems such as PayPal Manager and Dynamics Serenic Navigator
Fluent in written and spoken English
