Washington, DC based association management firm seeks highly motivated communications professionals to create and manage multi-format communications initiatives for various clients.
The Associate is a strong communicator and will ensure efficient, effective communications for multiple clients that support the clients’ goals, while managing deadlines and paying close attention to detail. Friendly and flexible work environment.

Manages multiple clients and/or AMS projects (vendors, operation, calendar, etc.)
Understands database, social media, CRM, and website management systems
Manages client marketing plans and initiatives with little supervision
Works with graphic designer to produce assets that meet the needs of communication campaigns
Manages distribution and communications lists in client databases
Manages client social media/marketing calendars and content production
Supports development of clients’ communications and marketing strategies; is the point of contact for all client marketing initiatives
Develops and maintains clients’ communications including coordination, implementation, and distribution of newsletters and recurring weekly alerts and promotional emails
Develops and manages marketing collateral, writes, and edits communication materials
Provides membership and event marketing content to drive member acquisition and event attendance
Recommends and implements changes to new or existing standardized processes and procedures
Conducts surveys and focus groups of members when appropriate to gauge member and prospective options
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree
A minimum of three to five years’ experience in association/non-profit or applicable communication role; including content creation, communication campaign management, marketing, constituent management
Demonstrates pro-active problem solving
Has ability to work independently with minimal management oversight as needed
Excellent communication skills (verbal and written); strong copy writing and copy editing; outstanding customer service and ability to work with constituents and colleagues in person, on the phone and electronically
Experience writing and designing marketing materials
Experience in Communications in a variety of areas
Extremely organized with strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
Comfortable in a fast-paced environment and able to manage multiple projects
Ability to learn to write about new areas/industries quickly
Ability to work both in a team environment and independently
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Proficient in working with an email communication program (i.e., Constant Contact)
Proficient in social media platforms and tools (i.e., LinkedIn, Instagram, Twitter)
Proficient working with a web publishing platform (i.e., WordPress or similar)
Familiarity with constituent databases (i.e., Salesforce)
Travel
This position will require 5-10% domestic travel throughout the year.

This is a largely sedentary position that requires the ability to speak, hear, see, and lift small objects up to 20 lbs.
