SEGD is looking for an enthusiastic individual with excellent communication, writing, and strategic sales skills to join us as our full-time Business Development Director. This position will provide critical sales, sponsorship and partnerships support to the organization by leading and executing key internal projects. This role is essential as we look beyond SEGD’s 50th anniversary in Summer 2023, and reimagine, redefine and ignite the next 50 years of SEGD.
Develop innovative revenue programs to support SEGD’s conferences and events, website and publications
Manage a sales pipeline to meet annual revenue goals, worth approximately one-third of the organization-wide revenue
Identify and develop new business opportunities to support the growth and visibility of SEGD and its members
Build and maintain strategic partnerships with key stakeholders in the experience design industry, such as press outlets, other industry associations and conferences
Nurture longstanding relationships with sponsors and supporters, providing them with insights and comprehensive campaigns leveraging SEGD’s various platforms and programming
Create comprehensive, customized annual campaigns for SEGD Partners: negotiate and formulate annual agreements and oversee the execution of the plan throughout the year to ensure their needs are met
Create innovative sponsorship strategies to align with programming and revenue targets; maintain all sponsorship and event prospectuses and oversee implementation of sponsorships throughout the events/programs
Drive the monetization strategy for a newly implemented website and robust advertising server, including posting ad materials and monitoring analytics
Write, and produce the annual Media Planner, annual Exhibit and Sponsorship Prospectus, website content, and email campaigns content to support revenue generation
Bachelor's degree in business administration, marketing, communications, or a related field.
At least 5 years of experience in business development, sales, or marketing, with a proven track record of achieving revenue goals.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to tailor communication to different audiences.
Demonstrated strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities.
Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
Experience with sponsorships, partnerships, and/or event management.
Knowledge of the experience design industry is preferred, but not required.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM software.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a collaborative and proactive approach.
