WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
We are seeking an experienced, detail oriented, team player who is excited to develop and oversee all the Society’s educational programs and events. This position will play a critical role in ensuring the success of the Society by working collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders. The ideal candidate has the ability to maintain an appropriate balance of in-person and virtual programs while ensuring the society’s events are relevant, timely and top-notch. You must possess a collaborative spirit and thrive working within a small, close-knit team.
The qualified candidate will be a strong writer and a dynamic project manager skilled at managing multiple projects and competing priorities.
In this role you are afforded the opportunity to work closely with the CEO gaining exposure to many aspects of the association industry. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious professional to have ownership of many facets of a strategic education plan with the chance to elevate and put their stamp on the process.
The successful candidate will:
- Work closely with the CEO to guide the educational and programmatic strategic initiatives set forth by the CFAW Board of Directors
- Develop and maintain a 12-month education calendar
- Create and manage budgets for each event
- Direct and oversee the implementation of approved programs and events, including all pre- and post-event activities
- Ensure that members working on programs have appropriate support from staff.
- Seek to expand and augment programs that are relevant and member-friendly, and decommission services that are fully mature and no longer provide a useful benefit to members
- Manage all relationships with external constituents as they pertain to education, programming, and learning
- Oversee and manage the Education Coordinator, ensuring their goals are set and being met.
- Maintain a working knowledge of significant developments and trends in the field, and use that knowledge to help the organization realize, imagine, or innovate new educational opportunities that maximize the value of the organization to its members
- Serve as staff liaison for the Programs & Education Committee
- Bachelor’s degree and five (5) or more years of progressive relevant experience executing in-person and online programs
- Experience in a membership organization a plus
- Proven project management skills
- Excellent proofing skills
- Advanced knowledge of professional development principles, strategies, and tactics
- Proficiency and experience with association management software – Salesforce preferred
- Desired tech stack: MS Office, CVENT, HigherLogic, Zoom
- Self-directed, works independently with minimal supervision
- Ability to work well under pressure and think outside the box when needed
- Ability to lift up to 30 pounds
- A pro-active and can-do attitude, even when working under pressure and with all levels of staff
- Some local travel required, limited regional travel possible
