The Associate, Chapter Engagement Role
The Associate, Chapter Engagement, is responsible for providing the highest level of service and administration to PCMA regional and student chapters, members, and potential members. This includes utilizing PCMA chapters to support the PCMA Strategic Plan as well as providing project management skills for both chapter operations and research projects funded by the PCMA Foundation. This role reports to the Director, Chapter Engagement, and will be directly accountable for the day-to-day management of chapter administration and student engagement. The Associate, Chapter Engagement will also provide support for all Community Engagement department projects, as well as driving member and customer engagement.
Accountabilities:
Chapter Administration
- In conjunction with the Director, Chapter Engagement, develop and maintain a chapter management strategy to be executed annually.
- Act as a liaison between PCMA and the regional and student chapters, administering chapter activities including:
- Serve as a liaison for chapter leaders to ensure successful chapter operations and growth through best practices, including chapter management, governance, programming, succession planning, as well as member and customer engagement
- Build and maintain relationships with chapter leaders by establishing regular contact
- Support chapters by ensuring that the chapter content on PCMA.org is up-to-date, relevant, and aligns with PCMA’s brand standards
- Ensure chapters adhere to their bylaws and chapter charter annually
- Encourage chapter collaboration and cultivate a culture of sharing best practices amongst chapters
- Identify needs for further chapter development and growth
- Communicate resources and tools available for use by chapter leaders in conducting the business of the chapter
- As directed, attend chapter and industry related meetings/functions as a headquarters resource and present PCMA programs, products, and benefits
- In conjunction with the Director, Chapter Engagement and the events team, organize and support chapter related events including chapter leader training and chapter networking events during Convening Leaders, and Education Conference
Student Engagement
- Actively recruit and maintain PCMA Student Chapters within North American Colleges and Universities
- Oversee annual charter renewals
- Organize and run monthly calls for student chapter presidents
- Serve as the conduit for connections between regional and student chapters
- Curate and manage the quarterly Student Insight Series education program
- Review current activities and offerings for student members and make recommendations to leadership for ideas to attract and retain the next generation
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, marketing, or related field preferred
- Three (3) to five (5) years’ experience in association management, or related experience; with specific attention to volunteer development, chapter management and/or committee interaction preferred
- The individual must be able to effectively communicate with people both in person, over the phone and over the internet
- Ability to work with both on own and in team setting
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products
- Must possess good organizational skills and show ability to address several issues simultaneously.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS
- Ability to perform work utilizing a computer for extended periods of time.
- Ability to sit for extended periods of time in performing the work.
- Ability to walk for extended periods of time in performing the work.
- Ability to pull or push objects of varying weights in performing the work.
- Ability to grasp objects utilizing the fingers (fine motor manipulation).
- Ability to travel by air or ground transportation as required in performing the work.
