SUMMARY
The Manager, Certification Communication & Development is responsible for supporting the Senior Director in developing and executing certification marketing and training with review providers. This position works closely with IIA’s Marketing department, North American chapter leaders and global affiliates to establish the marketing strategy for the professional certifications and review provider management. This position directly participates in global business development and enables an annual budget of $25M. This individual will have a strong project management background with a high level of marketing and communication skills.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Project Management
- Works with Senior Director on certification relationship and development strategy to convert into tangible action and monitoring project timelines.
- Communicates project updates to leadership and identifies timeline slippage and areas of risk.
- Develops detailed project plan including communication start to finish with a high level of coordination in a complex business.
- Communication
- Develops and executes comprehensive communication plans for critical certification initiatives aligned to department strategy.
- Collaborates with key players to identify communications opportunities and to provide critical messaging to diverse stakeholder groups in the organization.
- Identifies opportunities to consolidate information from various cross-functional communication streams to effectively and efficiently cascade via appropriate channels.
- Drafts a wide variety of communications materials to be delivered across various communication channels, including internal/external communications, strategy documentation, leader presentations and talking points, video scripting, intranet content, and certification newsletters.
- Marketing
- Oversees marketing plans and execution for strategic initiatives and policy changes. Works closely with Senior Director to proactively target the market and pivots by monitoring trends.
- Ensures program materials including internal and external documentation are updated and communicated to stakeholders.
- Monitors and collaborates with Marketing Department on certification and review provider campaigns.
- Owns the Marketing relationship.
- Provides marketing collaterals to all affiliates and ensures their utilization with focusing on customized regional tool kits to increase certification and review training sales.
- Booth work as needed for domestic and international meetings and events
- CIA Learning System Operations
- Implements project management methodology that ensures project success and milestones are met.
- Collaborates on logistics for in-person, virtual and on-demand sales of products and services between The IIA and Holmes Corp.
- Works with project owners to establish project plan that includes tasks, schedule, resources, and interdependence.
- Monitors projects progress and provides periodic report to Senior Director on the project plan, progress, and potential issues.
- Regional Business Development
- Supports business development for key markets and supports strategic initiatives for certifications / training / membership for the following:
- Asia/Pacific
- North/South America
- Middle East and Europe
- Monitors the business growth and performance against the goals to ensure progress is being made and corrective action, if necessary, is taken.
Special projects as assigned by the Senior Director.

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience
Bachelor's degree on business, communication, and/or project management, and five to seven years related experience and/or training. A Master’s degree would be an asset. Advanced analytic and data manipulation skills required. Experience with an international association is an asset to any role within The IIA.

Language Skills
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public. Multiple language skill is an asset to any role within The IIA.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Computer Skills
Intermediate or higher ability to work in a computerized environment with a working knowledge of most Microsoft Office products. Microsoft Access skills are an asset to this roll. Experience with customer relationship management database systems preferred.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
Project Management Professional (PMP) designation desired but not required.
