As the Program Manager, you will support the development and delivery of high-quality programs for the Higher Education Recruitment Consortium (HERC). You will leverage internal stakeholder, partner expertise, and HERC’s networks to produce regional and national professional development and networking events, member engagement efforts, member products, and jobseeker outreach.
Every day you will use your excellent planning, program development, program implementation, networking, and facilitation skills to support HERC’s mission of advancing inclusion, equity, and diversity in the higher education workforce.
Functions/Responsibilities:
- Plan and produce regional professional development webinars, panels, and in-person meetings that address timely and pressing member needs
- Plan and host regional networking events for member institutional representatives (virtual and in-person) to foster collaboration and information sharing
- Develop member programming and engagement collateral to be used by regional chapters, in collaboration of the Director of Programs
- Support the development and delivery of HERC’s webinars series by developing session descriptions, preparing discussion guides, and overseeing the continuing education credential process
- Support the development of new tools and resources for HERC members
- Develop and execute a regional job seeker outreach plan that engages veterans, disabled individuals, women, and underrepresented minorities, including specialized job fairs, alumni and campus events, etc.
- Facilitate collaboration among member representatives when dual-career needs arise Evaluate program impact and member satisfaction
- Form partnerships that contribute to HERC’s mission
- Serve as community manager by building and maintaining our member community on HERConnect

The Higher Education Recruitment Consortium (HERC is a nonprofit consortium of colleges, universities, and related groups committed to advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion in the higher education workforce. HERC supports member institutions in recruiting and retaining outstanding and diverse employees through the sharing of information and resources.
Working Conditions
Position is fully remote. Some degree of travel (1-5 times / year) will be required.
Supervision
Reports to the Co-Executive Director and Director of Programs at Central HERC.
Salary/Hourly Range
$46,800-$54,600, Exempt/Salaried Role. .75 FTE (30 hours/week)
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., human resources, communications, management, etc.) OR equivalent combination of education and 4-6 years of relevant experience.
To thrive in this role, you will have planned and facilitated professional development and networking events, both online and in-person, written material for websites, and worked collaboratively.
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree. Experience working with talent acquisition in a higher education setting and/or diversity, equity, and inclusion. Ability to build coalitions and influence others in ways that build long-term collaborative relationships.
