The Executive Director has responsibility to manage and oversee all aspects of the grants, programs and fundraising for the Foundation. This encompasses management of all interactions with external stakeholders for the purpose of advancing the goals and direction of the Foundation while implementing the grants and strategic plan. The Executive Director is responsible for a team of employees to implement the Foundation’s agenda and will work closely with the President/CEO and the Board of Directors.  

Key Responsibilities

• Implement and achieve the goals identified in the Foundation’s strategic plan.  Assist the President/CEO in the development of such plans for presentation to the Board of Directors.
• Oversee the educational programming, grants and contracts conducted or secured by the Foundation.
• Responsible for developing relationships and raising financial and volunteer support for the Foundation.
• Oversee product sales, licensing agreements and program offerings for the education of the foodservice industry.
• Responsible for managing scholarship programs run through the Foundation.
• Ensure the Foundation’s fiscal health, budget oversight and management of all resources.  Manage the financials on a regular basis to ensure that the budget goals are met.
• Build alliances and partnerships that will positively impact the Foundation.
• Execute Board of Director meetings and Foundation committee meetings with the assistance of the President/CEO.
• Manage the Foundation’s events to ensure their financial success and positive impact on the Foundation.
• Work with the marketing team to approve the Foundation’s marketing, advertising pieces and messages.

Experience and Personal Characteristics

• Five years leading a complex organization, preferably a foundation or nonprofit organization. 
• Demonstrated management skills: specifically, a track record of success as a thoughtful, effective, team-oriented leader and manager of people with a demonstrated ability to develop and motivate staff.
• Demonstrated success as an effective communicator both verbally and written.
• Experience managing grants and contracts, especially those received from government agencies is highly preferred.
• Experience with the foodservice industry is a plus but not necessary.
• Successful track record in developing and executing revenue generating programs and securing sponsorships.
• Decision maker with the ability to set priorities, manage, and implement them.  Strong organizational skills.
• Demonstrated ability to quickly gain knowledge and understanding of foodservice industry issues.
• Must be willing to share information, work with a team and promote the interests of the Foundation.
