The nation’s largest college admission counseling association, the National Association for College Admission Counseling (NACAC), seeks an energetic, initiative-taking professional to join the organization as Sponsorship and Exhibitions Sales Manager.
NACAC is the largest association in the world supporting college admission and college counseling professionals who serve students as they make choices about pursuing postsecondary education. It has a membership of more than 25,000 member institutions and individuals, including postsecondary admission professionals, high school counselors, independent educational consultants, community-based organizations and more based throughout the United States and, increasingly, around the world.

POSITION OVERVIEW & DESCRIPTION
The Sponsorship & Exhibition Sales Manager acts as an essential team member responsible for selling exhibition space and sponsorships for NACAC events & meetings and sponsorships for NACAC education and training and research initiatives.
Develop and grow relationships with current and new accounts through scheduled calls, in-person meetings and by attending industry events
Sales lead on assigned exhibitions and meetings. Responsible for managing sales budget, sales goals and responsibilities related to maximizing sales pre-show, on-site and post-show.
Develop NACAC’s annual sales/sponsorship strategy and manage the ongoing evaluation and measurement
Manage outbound sales calls daily to domestic and global clients.
Willingness and ability to travel to conferences and events in the US and potentially abroad to sell and promote NACAC opportunities
Develop creative and impactful ways to tailor and pitch sponsorship opportunities for year-round engagement
Collaborate with the communications and marketing teams to develop and manage digital sales collateral and materials
Maintain the sponsorship and exhibition prospect and sales pipeline
Generate and identify sales opportunities through research, analysis, and discovery, following up on leads in a timely manner and qualifying new companies to exhibit
Spearhead the development of an exhibition and sponsorship priority points program
Prepare progress reports and budget reports on a regular basis
Communicate timelines and fulfillment deadlines for sponsors and exhibitors
Assist with first right of refusal for sponsors and exhibitors and maintain records of communication
Assist onsite to ensure sponsor and exhibitor benefits are actualized and logged for reporting
Other duties as assigned
Minimum of three to five years of sales experience, preferably event/tradeshow experience
Bachelor’s degree is desired but not required.
Association and/or higher education experience desired but not required.
Ability to generate revenue through the fulfilment of target sales for sponsorships, exhibit packages, exhibit floor space and advertisements.
Management position; may supervise 1-2 sales fulfilment staff members
Familiarity with key account management strategies, catering to small, midsize, and large accounts, building programs and packages that align with their ROI.
Strong interpersonal and customer oral, written and presentation skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and knowledge of various software including Salesforce
Experience with A2Z or other exhibit floor plan space-draw programs.
Ability to meet deadlines, manage multiple tasks and adjust workload to meet shifting priorities
Extreme mindfulness with high-volume activity
Strong administrative, communication, and writing skills
Professionally represent NACAC at all times with honesty and integrity
Ability to work effectively both individually and in a team environment
Some travel required, including evenings and weekends
Ability to walk or stand for extended periods of time on-site during events
Some physical activity required (ability to lift to 30 lbs.; pack/unpack show shipment; onsite office set-up)

Dr. Angel B. Pérez became CEO of NACAC in July 2020. Prior to joining NACAC, he served as the vice president for enrollment and student success at Trinity College in Connecticut, where he also taught in the educational studies department. A recognized thought-leader on issues of equity and access in American education, he is a tireless champion for underrepresented communities and a creative advocate for reform. Named by a Forbes article in 2019 as the most influential voice in college admission, he strives to build an educational ecosystem that better represents today’s America.
Dr. Pérez’s expertise has been sought by key policy influencers. In 2016, the governor of Connecticut appointed him to the New England Board of Higher Education, and he was chosen by the Gates Foundation and the National Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators to serve on Forward50, a group of higher education leaders presenting solutions to Congress. In 2019, the New York Times Magazine profiled his story in a cover feature, and he is a frequent contributor and commentator in national media outlets, including the Washington Post, NPR, CBS Evening News, NBC Nightly News, Forbes, and the Chronicle of Higher Education.
