Overview:
The Manager of Membership & Communications is a key position in a small and growing trade association. This position is very “hands-on” and detailed oriented in communicating and engaging with our Members and industry stakeholders in order to provide outstanding and timely customer service. The Manager will develop and execute communication strategies in order to promote the association’s member benefits including conferences, schools and learning programs, committee work and other activities. The person will be a self-starter, agile and nimble, is able to work on multiple projects simultaneously, and have a passion for creating new work products while maintaining day-to-day processes.
Responsibilities:
Membership
Oversees and manages Association Management Software (AMS) membership database and ensuring all necessary changes are reflected in EGSA’s publications, website, member directory, event communications and signage. Manages membership renewals and new member outreach. Processes all membership applications and terminations. Responds to all membership emails and inquiries. Follows up on any inquiries received regarding membership and communicates member benefits to prospective new members. Works with EGSA Membership Communications Committee. Creates and administers EGSA membership campaigns. Prepares membership reports for EGSA leadership and Board of Directors.
Communications
Develops creative and engaging membership marketing materials, sponsorship brochures, newsletters, Powerline Magazine, convention materials, forms, etc. Produces content for and manages EGSA website. Promotes EGSA and the on-site power generation industry via social media (LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, etc.). Creates brand guidelines and ensures compliance. Responsible for procurement of articles, writing and editing Powerline magazine in partnership with EGSA Director of Education and graphic design consultant. Assists with the creation and maintenance of electronic publications. Acts as liaison with printers and other outside vendors to quote projects and ensure jobs are completed accurately and on a timely basis. Manages specialized computer software to produce high quality publications via multiple media platforms and makes recommendations for any needed changes in utilized software.
Skills and Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, business, association management, or a related field.
- Two to five years of association management experience.
- Strong organizational skills with demonstrated ability to prioritize multiple projects and meet deadlines.

- Solid computer skills, extensive knowledge of MS Office.
- Knowledge of and proficiency with social media platforms.
- Ability to work individually and collaborative as part of a team.
- Detail-oriented, proactive, assertive, and self-motivated.
- Proven experience developing marketing plans and campaigns
- Strong project management, multitasking, and decision-making skills
- Metrics-driven marketing mind with an eye for creativity
