We have an exciting opportunity for you to lead and direct our efforts in the identification, design and execution of digital initiatives and learning content for the organization that involve establishing a comprehensive delivery and execution of programs for both in-person and virtual environments. This position will also direct the planning, management, and execution of the organization’s Annual Scientific Meeting and all additional events. Plus, you will provide leadership and direction for the development of strategic product promotion plans through collaborative teams. And manage two direct reports: A Programs and Meetings Manager, and a Digital Services Manager.
First, you are responsible for ensuring the effectiveness of all professional development for virtual, and hybrid, and in-person events. Lead the digital presence on the organization’s website and learning management system including development of video, infographics, and other digital content. Recommend strategies to leverage program, event, and website content into extended learning opportunities for new and existing audiences. Keep up with the latest learning and meeting-related practices and technology to provide an effective member, stakeholder, staff, and attendee planning and logistical experience.
Second, you shall provide the vision and leadership for directing and creating the strategic direction for the Annual Scientific Meeting a 4,000-person scientific conference to help individuals share their research. Manage all aspects of the planning, promotion, and construction of the Annual Scientific Meeting. Develop and implement innovative practices to enhance the conference experience resulting in increased attendance along with a unique and satisfying experience for attendees. Responsible for driving related key initiatives from concept to implementation working collaboratively across the Society to maximize net income.
Third, you will provide leadership and direction for the development of strategic product promotion/marketing plans to achieve increased product awareness and market share. Manage appropriate research and analysis to support and validate recommendations. Build and extend the organization’s visibility and mission through cohesive promotion and branding efforts. Lead cross-functional organizational efforts to maximize promotion opportunities. Oversee day-to-day product promotion efforts for appropriate GSA products and services; including collateral (print) materials, web-based promotion initiatives, advertising sales, trade shows, advertising campaigns, and the ad sales function. Develop promotion planning and budgets that integrate with other department financial plans.
Bachelor’s degree in business, healthcare, digital communication or related field, and a CMP. Ten years of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience leading digital communication, learning, and meeting departments is essential. Association experience strongly preferred. Strong project management, budget management, leadership and decision-making skills. Results oriented. Excellent writing, speaking, and interpersonal skills. Ability to collaborate effectively across organizational lines. Demonstrated ability to analyze, synthesize, evaluate, formulate, and implement decisions; take action and risks as needed; make difficult decisions when necessary and make sound decisions.
