The Florida Psychological Association, a statewide nonprofit association in Tallahassee, FL with 1,100 members, is seeking a part-time to full-time Executive Director. Through leadership and management, the Executive Director works closely with the member-driven Executive Committee, Board of Directors and psychologists in our 13 Regional Chapters to help our members succeed. The Executive Director will have overall responsibility for driving top organizational performance through financial and operations management, coalition-building, membership retention and growth initiatives, legislative and regulatory advocacy, and talent development at the staff and volunteer levels.
Candidates must have knowledge of: nonprofit management and governance principles, strategic planning, leadership practices, government relations, membership recruitment, fundraising, fiscal management, staff management, and facilitating voluntary leadership.
To be considered, applicants must possess at least three years of experience in nonprofit executive management; Bachelor’s degree in psychology, business, management, marketing or related field; strong oral and written communication skills; demonstrated ability to lead and motivate staff and volunteers; and an inclusive and inspiring leadership style. Preference is given to candidates who possess an advanced degree in psychology or CAE designation and some familiarity with the field of psychology or health care.
