Under the direction of the Vice President of Public Affairs, develops and executes a comprehensive strategy to enhance member advocacy and engagement to support the strategic objectives of the Association, including NSBA’s public policy activities. Manages and administers engagement and programming for the Leadership Council and coordinates various volunteer policy groups to support NSBA’s public policy activities.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Manage Leadership Council engagement & programming
- Utilize, update, and maintain membership database (ACT!)
- Develop, manage and expand regional meetings/programs and issue-related briefings
- Manage logistics for Policy Groups and Issue Committees as needed
- Develop unique content for at-large NSBA members and Leadership Council
- Develop content for prospecting via Membership Team as needed
- Help prospect and develop recruitment lists using Website and social metrics/data
- Manage digital member engagement on social media
- Oversee online engagement and networking for NSBA leadership groups
- Manage NSBA Advocate, Rising Star and Activist awards
- Interface with leadership members on policy topics and questions
- Develop engagement metrics and touchpoints for retention and membership growth

- Higher education degree
- Have 3-5 years’ experience at another trade association, Capitol Hill, or other relatable company
- Have familiarity with membership databases
- Be growth-minded and willing to help NSBA expand our operations
- Have strong initiative and ability to multitask
- Have good interpersonal and communication skills to be able to work with a wide range of members and association leadership
WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Be prepared to work from NSBA office in D.C. at least part-time during the onboarding process
