The ABA Section of Intellectual Property Law (ABA-IPL), the world's premier intellectual property law organization, is seeking an experienced and innovative membership and marketing professional to be part of a dynamic communications team. The individual in this position is responsible for the development, implementation and management of a comprehensive marketing and membership program for the Section. He or she will work with the director of communications and publishing to support ABA-IPL's strategic plan through membership development and marketing activities—using both electronic, print, and social media to market and promote Section programs, products, and services.
The individual in our key and high-profile membership role will work directly with Section leadership to fulfill membership strategy and products and will oversee the creation, production and delivery of membership and development campaigns and initiatives. In overseeing all membership and marketing, this staff person will also be responsible for development and integration of the Section website content and technologies as they relate to membership and marketing strategies.

Minimum 4-7 years proven and quantifiable membership and marketing experience in a non-profit environment, and a bachelors degree in marketing, communications or a related field; knowledge of membership database systems; production and printing requirements; strong computer skills, including advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office suite, database management, and social media experience; superior communication skills and writing ability; problem solving, and organizational skills; strong customer service focus and the facility to work with staff, members, outside organizations and the public. Creative design talent will be welcome. The successful candidate will also bring budgeting, demographic analysis and survey expertise, well-developed business acumen and be able to successfully negotiate and grow relationships with external members and prospect organizations.
There will be travel of up to two times per year.
