The Forum on Education Abroad has an immediate opening for a Member Services Manager. Reporting directly to the President & CEO, the Member Services Manager works closely with the Chief Revenue Officer and serves as a senior member of the operations team. The Manager is responsible for handling both day-to-day and strategic membership engagement for the organization, achieving membership renewal and growth targets, and administering and planning utilization of the association management system.
The Forum’s programs and services are recognized as providing best practices for members’ education abroad endeavors. The Forum is distinguished by authoritatively providing: Standards of Good Practice; reliable and comprehensive data and research; guidance in and examples of outstanding curriculum design; models for and results of outcomes assessment; and advocacy for education abroad. The use of these services assists members to assess and improve their education abroad programs to benefit student participants.
The Forum designs and implements programming at the regional, national and international levels that sets and disseminates Standards of Good Practice, increases the accessibility of the Standards to all levels of member institutions and organizations, encourages and provides training in the implementation of best practices, and allows all member institutions and organizations to engage in purposeful dialogue. Programming also promotes and disseminates data collection and research, curriculum and academic design, outcomes assessment and advocacy. The Forum’s programming is nimble and responsive in communicating timely content.
Develops the strategy for all Forum membership and outreach related activities. Leads annual membership drives and develops outreach campaigns for existing, new and prospective members. Generates content for the Forum website, social media and various communication platforms. Manages relevant print publications for the organization. Oversees Forum association management database and records, serves as primary liaison to current and prospective members, and develops and implements a comprehensive engagement strategy for members.
Develops conference strategies related to member outreach for Forum staff, recommends events and sponsorship activities to benefit Forum members. Systematizes opportunities for Forum members to provide feedback on existing and needed services through surveys, campus visits, and conference attendance. Creates toolkits to help members utilize Forum resources, for new members to quickly see value from their association with The Forum, and for Board and Council members to represent the organization externally. May act as staff liaison to relevant Council working groups or committees.
For the Annual Conference and other annual/ bi? annual events: assists with the development of marketing and communications materials to incorporate members’ perspectives, and assists with other event? related logistical details.
Develops and implements strategy for annual membership drive and outreach related activities, including developing relevant resources, toolkits, and opportunities for engagement.
Manages the membership application process, member acceptance, and is the lead for the organization’s association management system
Develops strategy for membership communication and formal and informal methods for providing feedback from members and potential members on Forum programs and resources.
Assists with the development of content for communication to Forum members across various digital platforms, such as email campaigns, social media, etc., Collaborates and/or leads the development of print publications for members.
Serves as primary liaison to current and prospective members, conducting outreach and responding to membership inquiries. May act as staff liaison to relevant Forum Council working groups, committees, and/or special interest groups.
Coordinates conference and event strategies related to member outreach and assists with other event-related logistical details of The Forum’s conferences and events, as needed throughout the year.
This position will work remotely from the individual’s home office within the United States. Travel to in-person events and staff retreats of up to 5 days, 3-4 times per year, is required.
International travel typically occurs at least once per calendar year. Due to the nature of the position, work may occur on nights and weekends leading up to and/or during an event.
May supervise the organization’s administrative assistant and/or student interns. Contributes to other projects as necessary.

3-5 years experience in member services with direct experience leading this function for an association required.
