The American Medical Informatics Association (AMIA) is seeking a part-time Membership Coordinator (20 hours/week) to serve as the first point of contact for member inquiries, provide general administrative support to the membership team, facilitate member communications, manage data analytics, and support a highly responsive environment that reinforces member value both internally and externally. The position reports to the Senior Vice President of Membership and Marketing.
Serves as a primary contact for all member inquiries, including applications and renewals. Responds to membership requests through phone and email.
Serves as the key internal contact for the AMS, facilitating requested changes and ensuring ongoing and accurate updates.
Assists in the annual membership cycle that drives and reinforces member benefits and community.
Generates member analytics and other recurring reports of membership activities (using Fonteva and Nucleus).
Oversees and executes member email distribution (using Hubspot).
Coordinates with membership department Marketing and Communications staff to ensure that deadlines are on target and met for membership communications.
Provides administrative support to the Membership team.
Collects and communicates member feedback for the Senior Vice President.

Education – College degree required; In lieu of a degree, three or more years of experience may suffice.
Knowledge – Thorough understanding of member value and the association environment. Have a member centric orientation.
Work Experience – 2+ years of solid experience association database and email software experience, required.
General Skills – Excellent customer service, analytical, creative, and organizational skills; demonstrated ability to work effectively in a customer focused, team-oriented environment; outstanding written and verbal skills; creative thinker with a proactive style.
Technical Skills – Proficiency in MS Office Suite required. Demonstrated experience updating records in an AMS and analytics reporting - experience with Fonteva, HubSpot, and Nucleus strongly preferred.
Conditions – Must be able to travel to AMIA’s annual meeting with other travel possible. Have an understanding and passion for AMIA’s mission.
