ISAKOS needs an experienced, motivated education and e-learning professional to manage the organization’s growing online educational program needs, in fulfillment of the society’s strategic goals. This position will support the work of the Education Committee, Publications Committee, and Trends & Technologies Task Force, while also working with ISAKOS Clinical Committees to execute their charges related to webinars, virtual courses, Congress sessions, e-Books, Global Link, and other innovative new education solutions.
This position manages e-learning and eBooks program planning for ISAKOS, a global leader in advancing education, research and patient care in arthroscopy, knee surgery, and orthopaedic sports medicine. ISAKOS e-learning programs and electronic publications provide the society’s international membership and the wider orthopaedic sports medicine community with access to a variety of new preventative, therapeutic and surgical technique information, allowing participants from around the world to access resources that help them expand their knowledge and enhance their surgical skills. This position explores, recommends, and implements new technologies and trends that take ISAKOS education, e-learning and publications to the next level, while also attending relevant meetings to understand developments in the field and identify new opportunities for change and improvement. In addition, the role advances the content and knowledge management strategy for the society.
This position is responsible for supporting the Education Committee as a staff liaison, working closely with the chairs to fulfill committee charges and goals for delivering impactful e-learning offerings that meet the scientific and practice-related needs of the members. In addition, this position is responsible for coordinating support for the Publications Committee, working closely with the chairs to fulfill committee charges and goals for advancing the mission of ISAKOS through high-quality e-books, articles and other electronic published content related to arthroscopy, knee surgery and orthopaedic sports medicine. The role also provides support for ISAKOS Clinical Committees, which focus on developing and delivering e-learning programs and e-books within their clinical areas of expertise. Additionally, this role works with the Trends & Technologies Task Force to explore medical innovation, new technologies and new initiatives that would enhance ISAKOS education programs and publications.
Primary duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Program Management for ISAKOS e-Learning Programs
Develop guidelines for webinars, virtual courses, and other online education programs, and manage the overall process of proposal submissions, evaluation and approvals, topic and speaker management.
Engage ISAKOS teammates and--as appropriate--collaborative partners, in course preparations, ensure strong communication throughout with teammates & partner society.
Stay current with industry/association trends to ensure ISAKOS education programs reflect best practices in adult learning and technology.
Provide email management for a large volume of education program-related emails; ensure timely, detailed responses in response to inquiries.
Coordinate chair and faculty invitations, ensure timely responses, and help coordinate replacement invitations, in collaboration with committees and course chairs.
Serve as a main point of contact to communicate with faculty, to secure acceptance of invitations, facilitate uploads of slide presentations and recordings, and follow-through on other required faculty commitments.
Manage the CME processes for e-learning courses, adhering to ACCME guidelines, ensuring COI disclosures, and submitting required documentation.
Ensure translation services are in place for ISAKOS e-learning programs, seeking faculty input on relevant terms that may require translation.
Help faculty implement polling, surveys, breakout discussions, and other interactive features of the webinars and courses, to better engage learners.
Administer course attendee survey and certificates, and report on survey feedback.
Examine and improve content management of ISAKOS electronic education content assets, across Global Link and other education and technology resources.
Participate in documenting requirements for a Learning Management System and assist with system implementation/upgrades to improve the faculty and learner experience.
Maintain effective processes for applications and approval of ISAKOS Approved Courses, Teaching Centers, and maintenance of such listings and course/meeting calendars on web.
Document Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for e-learning programs.
Program Management for ISAKOS Publications and e-Books
Manage timely and efficient processes for e-book proposals, contracting, production and publication, in collaboration with committee chairs, editors/authors, and publishers.
Manage review and selection of e-books proposals that will move forward, in communication with the board and with related committees.
Serve as a main paint of contact to communicate with the Publisher and with Publication Committee chairs throughout the process, from proposal through publication.
Assist with RFP process, selection and onboarding of a new publisher, when appropriate.
Participate in developing publications reports, enhancing reporting templates, and working with publisher to secure necessary information for monitoring the reach, royalties, etc.
Track and oversee translations of ISAKOS Publications; maintain up to date reports.
Collaborate with Publications Committee and Partner Societies to avoid overlap of e-book topics; help avoid/resolve confusion between projects by another society/publisher.
Coordinate updates to Publications policies, copyright statements and other key processes to protect ISAKOS and the content of ISAKOS publications.
Document SOPs for ISAKOS Publications/e-books processes.
Committee Management of Education, Publications, & Clinical Committees, plus T&T Task Force
Manage and serve as staff liaison to the ISAKOS Education, Publications, and Clinical Committees, plus the Trends & Technologies Task Force, regarding schedules, agendas, notifications, minutes and follow-up.
Oversee ISAKOS e-learning, e-books, and related Clinical Committee projects including communication, e-course planning and execution, e-books, finances and reporting.
Bring forward Education Committee and T&T Task Force recommendations to other committees and the board, to ensure widespread awareness/adoption across the society.
Maintain the Education e-learning and publications budget to include all current initiatives. Assist with fundraising efforts and administration of committee initiatives as needed.
Outline and maintain standard operating procedures, documenting the SOPs associated with key activities in the areas of e-learning, e-books, & clinical committee projects.
Education: Bachelor’s degree required.
Experience: 5+ years of professional experience in a position(s) with similar functions; demonstrated e-learning and e-books/electronic learning resources program experience required. Experience with scientific associations or medical societies a plus. Qualified individuals will be detail-oriented, have excellent organizational skills, have the ability to manage/plan at the operational level and set priorities effectively, work effectively both as an individual and as part of a collaborative team, and have the confidence to interact with high-profile professionals. Proven experience working with physicians, and knowledge of publications processes and continuing medical education (CME) a plus.
Proven skills with using a learning management system, virtual platform, and related e-learning technology.
Committee management and administrative support skills required.
Excellent customer service, problem-solving, writing and interpersonal skills.
Skilled in using Microsoft Office tools, Adobe Acrobat, Google drive/email/calendar, and Zoom or similar meetings platform.
Experience with Asana or similar project management tool a plus.

Participation in and coordination of online international teleconferences and face-to-face meetings (may take place outside of standard work hours/days)
