The Illinois Music Education Association (ILMEA) is seeking highly-motivated, detail-oriented candidates to join its micro-staff in the role of Member Services Manager. This new position develops and maintains mutually beneficial member relations and services, including the planning and management of ILMEA Professional Development activities.
Duties and Responsibilities
Manage ILMEA Membership
Manage ILMEA Professional Development
Maintain working knowledge of current trends in member services and professional development
Drive the vision and manage expansion of ILMEA membership and professional development
Partner with RegFox in development and maintenance of the Membership Center and event registration campaigns
Maintain ILMEA member data
Serve as customer support for members
Recruit new members
Create a welcoming environment to retain members
Illinois Music Education Conference
Manage the clinician application process
Manage the communication and logistics for IMEC clinicians
Manage the conference registration process and onsite logistics
Professional Development Programming
Plan and manage all ILMEA Professional Development Programming
Maintain and grow ILMEA’s relationships with partner organizations
Curate and maintain a diverse roster of high-quality professional development clinicians and presenters
Maintain ILMEA’s status as an ISBE certified PD provider
Manage Professional Development Documentation for program attendees
Lead and manage Professional Development Committee
Illinois Collegiate Music Education Association
Work closely with volunteer leaders to manage the ILCMEA
Keep all necessary documentation for ILMEA Membership and Professional Development
Generate all necessary financial reports
Provide support to the Executive Director in managing the finances of all responsibility areas
Other Duties As Assigned
Compensation: The salary for this position will be based on experience. A Qualified Small Employer Health Reimbursement Account and 403(b) with employer match program will also be included.
Reports to: This position reports to the Executive Director.
Supervision: This position does not have any staff reports. Volunteer and vendor management will be a large part of this position.
Location: ILMEA is located in Palos Heights, Illinois. Telecommuting is a possibility, with the understanding that in-person staff meetings will be required at least twice a month. The ILMEA office is a dog-friendly environment.
Travel: ILMEA is a state-wide association. This staff position will require travel to Student Programs, the Illinois Music Education Conference and other potential events. Travel will average 25 days per year with the bulk of this travel in Illinois.

Professional demeanor and experience working on a high-performing team
Ability to establish and maintain positive, collaborative relationships with association members, volunteers and education colleagues
Bachelor’s degree plus at least two years of relevant professional experience
Highly Proficient in both the Microsoft Office Suite and Google Suite; Must be willing to learn new technology platforms as needed
Prior experience in nonprofits or associations is preferred, but not required
Telecommuting is allowed.
