NTCA–The Rural Broadband Association is looking for a Communications Manager to join our team and play a strategic role in communicating about the NTCA Benefit plans to members and participants. This position will report to the VP of Strategic Communications and will be located in NTCA’s Asheville, North Carolina location. As our Benefits Communications Manager, you will develop and implement strategies to market the NTCA benefit plans, communicate program features, changes and enhancements and develop educational materials for the benefits program. You will serve as a key advocate for providing a positive experience with essential online tools and systems, including the NTCA website and benefits portals.
What will you do?
Serve as the project coordinator for all benefit communications, promotional and educational materials. Collaborate with internal staff and external creative agencies to communicate educational opportunities and the value of benefit offerings to members and plan participants.
Provide strategic guidance and assist with the management of key digital communication tools, including benefits content for the NTCA website and online administrative portals. Suggest new technologies and communication methods to improve the member experience with benefit operations.
Serve as project lead for all benefits related webcasts. Assist with developing content for webcasts and identify new webcast opportunities to better promote the NTCA benefit programs.
Offer editorial consulting and assistance for rapid response member alerts and special notices about the NTCA benefits programs. Oversee distribution of required materials and promotional messages.
Develop communication and marketing strategies. Develop and monitor communications project budgets.

What experience and skills are we looking for?
Excellent written and verbal communications skills including experience developing and implementing strategic communications initiatives.
Experience in digital and multimedia communications methods including experience managing web content, email communications and campaigns and webcasting platforms.
Someone who can work independently but also has strong collaboration skills.
Experience managing and leading staff.
Basic knowledge of employee benefit plans.
Practical knowledge, skills and abilities usually acquired through an undergraduate degree in communications, journalism, marketing or a related field of study and 5-7 years of related work experience.
