The Learning and Development Program Manager will serve as the staff lead for planning, developing, implementing, and evaluating a wide variety of online and in-person professional programs and projects essential to the Society of Women Engineers. This position also manages the Digital Learning Associate position to develop educational technologies to enhance learning effectiveness, experience, and reach. They must be able to identify learning needs of engineering organizations and create clear, actionable plans that promote greater community engagement and demonstrate the full value of the SWE learning portfolio. Learning & Curriculum Design • Apply adult learning theories, effective instructional design, and technology practices into the design and development of in-person and online programs. • Create and implement programs to attract sponsors including program overview and goals, learning outcomes, timelines, instructional strategies, identifying subject-matter-experts, and evaluation metrics for the Collegiate Leadership Institute (CLI), Academic Leadership for Women in Engineering (ALWE), STEM Reentry, Leadership Summits, and other identified program needs. • Manages and implements grant funded program objectives. • Provide instructional design (using the ADDIE model or similar instructional design methodologies) in the conception, design, development, deployment of learning activities. • Implement digital instructional technologies (e.g., e-learning) to increase accessibility. • Act as the staff liaison to SWE’s Curriculum Committee; collaborating to reach identified goals. • Follow the IACET standard for content offering CEUs and assist with the reaccreditation process. • Manage new learning technologies including the Advance Learning Center enhancements. • Develop promotional and marketing materials for programs and worksheet products. • Schedule and coordinate programs and workshops including speaker contracts and program logistics, participant schedules, instructional materials, and equipment. • Assist with email and social media content to bring awareness to SWE’s programs. • Undertake other duties as assigned, as well as take initiative to further the learning and development department’s overall success. Project Management • Manage new and existing SWE projects related to learning and development. • Partner effectively with stakeholders (internal staff, SWE members, and partners) to identify project goals, timelines, and criteria for success of identified programs. • Evaluate the effectiveness of training programs by designing and executing evaluation plans with concrete measurable outcomes. • Review current vendor status, achievements, and competitive pricing to make recommendations for future relationships. • Explores market trends, solutions, and technologies that can be leveraged to maximize resources utilization.
Qualifications and Characteristics: • Bachelor’s degree required. Master’s degree preferred. June 2, 2021 • 5-7 years’ experience with curriculum development, instructional design, or web-based education required. Association experience, particularly in a learning and development, preferred. • Experience in administering continuing education units (CEU) and curriculum design. • Must be solution-oriented, resourceful, and proactive with a strong sense of responsibility and ownership. • Demonstrated ability to successfully plan, organize, prioritize, and handle multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment. • Ability to work independently, but also contribute to a collaborative team environment. • Well versed in the latest trends in eLearning, instructional design, and competency modeling. • Excellent oral and written communication skills. • Provide excellent customer service to SWE staff members, SWE members, non-members, organizations, etc. Technology Requirements • Working knowledge administering learning management systems and WordPress sites. • Strong skills developing content using various authoring technologies (Articulate 360 - Storyline). Ability to troubleshoot SCORM files and SCORM delivery mechanisms. • Experienced in conducting virtual training sessions using various web conferencing tools. • Strong computer skills, literate in new media, and experience integrating information and data from several applications. • Technically savvy and open to learning new learning and marketing technologies. • Advanced user of MS Word, PowerPoint, and Excel (VLOOKUP’s, Pivot tables, etc.) is required.
