What You'll Do: The Chief Strategic Alliance Officer (CSAO) will develop, lead and deliver comprehensive plans to establish and maintain high-level relations with industry, AACE community members, the healthcare team, public/patients and other organizations on behalf of AACE. The CSAO will have in depth knowledge and a deep understanding of the ever-evolving healthcare landscape and will proactively advise internal stakeholders on future opportunities and challenges. The CSAO will develop productive, sustainable relationships and strategies for advancing the mission of AACE with prioritized organizations/entities to include highly effective and appropriate industry relations, communications and program planning and execution. The CSAO has a deep understanding of the mission and focus of AACE and fully supports the AACE vision for continued growth, outreach, and long-term impact to improve the lives of people and healthcare professionals. The CSAO serves on the Executive Leadership Team (ELT) and is involved in all aspects of association management focused on setting strategy, developing culture and driving change. This position may travel 1-2 times per month.

Work closely with the ELT to strategize on innovative initiatives that address issues in unique and impactful ways.
Lead and execute on the Corporate Advisors Program (CAP).
Initiate and drive concept discussions that lead to solution-oriented initiatives.
Coach and develop the team to ensure they are delivering against key business tactics.
Lead and develop a remote team and over various functions giving particular attention to challenges created in a virtual environment.
Serve as liaison on behalf of AACE to corporate executives and decision makers.
Business Skills and Organization-
Ability to develop deep relationships.
Map external engagement across the organization.
Develop a deep understanding of endocrinology and AACE assets.
Align/coordinate efforts across functions for optimal external engagement.
Represent AACE’s interests in across all enterprise activities.
Develop and oversee the development and operations of prospecting, proposal preparation and submission, as well as acknowledgments, reporting, publicity and stewardship.
Communication and Collaboration-
Collaborate and communicate with internal cross-functional teams and functional areas to optimize and plan the delivery of programs.
Promote AACE’s value proposition for external partners.
Articulate the value proposition of AACE and differentiate AACE’s unique value from that of other professional endocrinology societies.
Prepare and manage annual operational plans and budgets as needed.
Who You Are: Bachelor’s degree (Masters preferred), 8 + years related experience. Background in non-profit management, hospital administration, or health sciences administration preferred. Experience with medical technology and the pharmaceutical industry required. Ability to identify revenue growth opportunities, draft sponsorship proposals, RFPs, and other correspondence, and make presentations to VIP audiences. Ability to work in changing, flexible environments, build collaborative relationships, and shift priorities when needed. Has demonstrated the ability to achieve results in a matrixed organization. Proven record in building strategic professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders; in innovative and effective collaboration and communication; and in program management. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Good judgment/decision making skills. Ability to handle sensitive issues professionally and initiate new activities as needed. Excellent interpersonal skills. Ability to work in a virtual team environment and work well with professionals in a challenging and fast-paced work environment.
