About the Position:
The Director of Finance plans, directs and controls EBAA’s financial, human resources and administrative functions, and reports directly to the President and CEO.
Ensure Accurate and Timely Monthly Financial Close
Close and reconcile the monthly financial accounts within 4 days of month end
Highlight any significant variances and report to CEO and senior staff
Monitor Investment balances to optimize amounts held in interest earning accounts and ensure operating accounts are funded for daily needs.
Ensure prompt and accurate payment of all payables using Bill.com
Reporting to CEO, Board and Finance Committee.
Prepare monthly reports for the CEO; quarterly reports for the Finance Committee
Provide projections and analysis as requested.
Coordinate quarterly investment portfolio updates with Finance Committee and Raymond James.
Ensure a Successful Year End Audit
Work with audit team to coordinate audit work, which begins within three weeks of the fiscal year end close of June 30.
Develop the Fiscal Year Budget
Discuss strategic initiatives with CEO and senior staff
Procure dues information requests from all member eye banks to calculate eye bank dues
Develop detailed budget workpapers by various revenue/cost centers and review with CEO and senior staff
Create a summarized budget and review with Finance Committee and Board of Directors
Perform HR functions and oversee administrative aspects of EBAA office.
Ensure accurate processing of employee payroll and pension distribution.
Coordinate annual enrollment for health benefits; track and administer FSA plan and other staff benefits.
Information Technology Liaison
Work as liaison between staff and third party IT vendor.
Respond to member inquiries and provide customer service.
Develop keen understanding of the AMS (MemberSuite) and how it interacts with accounting systems (Sage50).
Willingness to assist all staff in whatever capacity required to serve our members.
Certified Public Accountant
At least five years' experience in an association / non-profit environment
Member service orientation
Positive attitude and demeanor
Telecommuting is allowed.
