AACC, a DC-based dynamic, international scientific/medical society of clinical laboratory professionals, physicians, and research scientists focused on clinical chemistry and related disciplines, is seeking a Manager, Education Programs.
The Manager, Education Program develops and executes content for AACC’s live and online meetings including in-person and online conferences, commercially supported events, and AACC’s annual scientific meeting. The Manager collaborates with internal teams and works with subject matter experts to design, develop, and implement engaging learning experiences.
This position reports to the Director, Professional Education and supervises a Coordinator. The Manager is responsible for a portfolio of smaller in-person and online education conferences, with support from the Meetings team. The Manager supports the Director in developing programming for AACC’s annual scientific meeting. These meetings cover a range of laboratory medicine topics, audiences, and formats. The Manager is expected to continuously assess and improve the conference portfolio using data-driven approaches to set measurable goals, track progress, understand audiences, conduct needs assessments, and adapt accordingly. They will be responsible for creating and maintaining budgets and ensuring programs meet stakeholder and supporter expectations.
Specific Responsibilities Include:
Leading internal cross-functional teams to design, plan, promote, and implement in-person and online conferences and commercially supported events.
Serving as the primary resource to internal and external stakeholders prior to, onsite, and following in-person conferences to facilitate execution of programs.
Managing communications with planning committee members, faculty, and corporate sponsors including maintaining faculty relationships and working closely with the Corporate Relations department to ensure supporter expectations are understood and met in a timely manner.
Developing engaging educational programs in collaboration with subject matter experts.
Supporting speaker management, abstract review, program design, and other related components of AACC’s annual scientific meeting.
Developing and analyzing feedback from educational activities, surveys, and other forms of needs assessments to make recommendations for future activities.
Preparing, revising, and reviewing outcomes reports.
Developing and refining processes for program implementation that include internal collaboration, faculty data collection, content review, and outcomes reporting.
Preparing annual budgets and determining allocation of funds to meet financial goals.
Working closely with Senior Manager, Digital Leaning to deploy programs on AACC’s learning management system.
Working closely with the Associate Director, Professional Education to ensure programs meet CE/CME requirements.
Working closely with the Director, Professional Education to expand the online conference and session recording offerings.
Occasionally, traveling to and attending meetings to support onsite logistics.
Other duties as assigned.
The successful candidate will have demonstrated success in implementing and overseeing education conferences for a professional or trade association. The ideal candidate will have:
Bachelor's degree in a related field and 5-7 years’ experience in a professional or trade association focused on developing educational content, training or equivalent.
Experience working in cross-functional teams with an ability to build consensus among multiple stakeholders in a face-paced environment.
Committee management and supervisory experience.
Experience with budgeting and reporting.
Strong program and project management, interpersonal, and analytical skills.
Excellent consensus-building skills and ability to work collaboratively to lead a diverse group of stakeholders.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications; a working knowledge of Adobe Acrobat; and experience in database management and learning management platforms and applications.
Experience with project management tools is preferred.
Knowledge of and experience with CE/CME processes is highly preferred.
Knowledge of the field of laboratory medicine is desired.
