The Coordinator of Education and Training is a valuable partner in growing SIA’s educational programs which deliver high quality learning through conferences, training and certification to advance our members’ objectives and provide the industry with the tools to train as many of its worldwide professionals as possible. The primary goal for this position is to manage, assess and continuously develop educational programming as delivered by SIA and its approved partners.
Assist with the development and delivery of educational programming through several delivery options including instructor-led, e-learning, blended learning, web casts, conferences and expositions.
Manage training course scheduling and provide administrative support for all course logistics.
Coordinate conference program development and facilitate communications between advisory board members, speakers, and event partners.
Contribute new ideas in educational programming through member and industry needs assessment.
Develop and monitor educational program budgets to ensure adherence to budget guidelines and objectives.
Support the ongoing maintenance of learning resources including training materials, conference communications, and other published works authored by SIA and its members.
KEY AREAS INCLUDE:
Security Project Management (SPM) Education (30%)
Training Seminar Program Management
Support instructor-led SPM training courses to include scheduling instructors, managing participant registration, monitoring payments, ordering and ensuring the delivery of classroom materials (i.e. student workbooks and instructor manuals), and other activities supporting in-person SPM course delivery such as developing PowerPoint templates and other educational aids with the subject matter expert team.
Support virtual course delivery of SPM training seminars to include scheduling instructors, managing participant registration, monitoring payments, setting-up and testing webinar platform, monitoring class sessions, uploading session recordings and other activities supporting virtual SPM course delivery.
Maintain Security Project Management Common Body of Knowledge with subject matter expert team.
Develop course evaluation to determine instructional and content effectiveness.
Communicate with instructors, students, hosts, corporate coordinators and others to ensure timely receipt of materials and information including responding to inquiries from prospective students.
Conduct meeting planning and manage logistics, including location selection, production of course materials, audio/visual equipment and catering.
Assist Marketing Department with the development of target messaging to prospective students, hosts, and purchasers of training.
Develop and maintain catalogue of Standard Operating Procedures.
Maintain the web pages related to SPM program and other education-related activities, programs and products as required.
Conference Education Program Development (30%)
Play a lead role with ISC Events in the development of session content for the ISC West and ISC East conference programs.
Research industry issues, hot topics and recruit speakers for the ISC West and East educational programs.
Develop and articulate criteria to evaluate session submission proposals and prospective speakers.
Draft and send written communications to conference participants to collect
Support the set-up of the OpenWater web platform for the submission of speaker proposals.
Review session submissions and provide guidelines to speakers for successful content delivery at ISC Shows.
Conduct session review meetings with speakers to ensure planned presentations deliver on published session descriptions and learning objectives to attendees.
Coordinate and collaborate with conference speakers and event partners, manage conference programming logistics, and perform other administrative actions required to ensure a successful event.
Participate in the Effort to Attract Talent to the Physical Security Industry (25%)
Support logistics for micro-learning webinar sessions and communicate scheduling information with volunteers.
Analyze current e-learning programs and contribute new ideas to the development and promotion of SIA online educational offerings.
Support management in creating new marketing materials and other activities focused on increasing member engagement, including monthly newsletter updates.
Center of Excellence
Assist in the development of an online repository for education and training resources.
Recruit SIA member companies to participant in the Center of Excellence by sharing training course content and other educational resources.
Support Director in the management and ongoing maintenance of learning resources published and promoted on the Center of Excellence of the SIA website.
Partner Development and Volunteer Management (15%)
Provide managerial, administration, and administrative support to partnership efforts.
Engage Education Committee members in program development efforts.
Support management and activities of the ISC Education Advisory Board.
Bachelor’s degree preferred + 3-5 years of experience in education program development.
Association experience preferred.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
High level of diplomacy and tact to manage diverse member needs and strategic partnerships.
Strong proficiency in time and project management (multiple concurrent tasks).
High level of detail orientation.
Solid computer and technical experience and knowledge (Microsoft Office Suite, database management (and e-learning tools, such as learning management systems and web seminar delivery tools).
