To direct content, operations and revenue strategies for CES and CES Asia conference programs and assist with new CTA event development.
Critical Duties and Responsibilities:
Lead the strategic planning for the CES conference program including communicating program strategy to CTA executives.
Oversee management of conference operations for CES. Activities include:
Strategic planning for new conference venues, vendor selection, content distribution and promotion, on-site logistics planning, and use of new technologies.
Oversee CES conferences budget.
Manage business development for CES conference program including identifying new partnerships, products and strategies to create growth areas for show and drive revenue.
Oversee overall content strategy development for CES conference program in collaboration with Sr. Manager, Event Content.
Direct data analysis and competitive intelligence needed to keep conference content relevant and growth oriented.
Collaborate with colleagues within and outside department to curate content, identify and secure speakers.
Oversee CES conference partner negotiations and contracting with 40+ partners, including researching and identifying strategic business partners to enable new growth opportunities.
Travel to industry events to research and recruit new content partners.
Oversee team members providing program consultation to CES Asia coordinator and Show Director based in Shanghai. Consultation to include:
Reviewing and recommending content themes for CES Asia.
Reviewing process for inviting advisors and speakers.
Evaluating new partnerships.
Provide direct supervision to team of two direct reports, department interns and collaborations with internal staff.
Collaborate on new event development for CTA.
Travel to CES, CES Asia and other CTA events as necessary.
Perform other duties as required by business needs.
At least eight to ten years of experience in large event management, strategy and program development required
Strategic planning and facilitation and ability to generate new ideas
Research-oriented mindset to understand and recommend new technologies, event AV production and content distribution
Excellent communications skills (written and oral) and comfort with presenting to executives and partners
Proactive, action-oriented approach to projects
Excellent problem solving and customer service skills required
Ability to manage business relationships with a variety of members, press, exhibitors and strategic partners
Ability to research and understand top trends
Strong project management and negotiating skills needed
Travel to Las Vegas for CES
Bachelor’s degree in communications, event operations or strategy, hospitality, or related area required, or related experience preferred or commensurate experience
