The Member Engagement and Operations Specialist is responsible for the coordinated efforts to increase and engage members in AFWA at all levels. Provides support for AFWA operations, member engagement, member recruitment and retention efforts and chapter development. This position is also responsible for the strategic development of all marketing and communication initiatives for the association in support of the Chief Staff Officer.
A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Ensure that member engagement, membership recruitment and retention are key priorities.
Assist with the planning and execution of membership recruitment activities, member engagement initiatives, membership development programs, and member retention efforts.
Plan and assist with the execution of corporate membership recruitment.
Develop and maintain membership recruitment and retention lists and database.
Track and monitor effectiveness of all member engagement, recruitment, retention and chapter activities.
Develop and oversee communications as they relate to membership recruitment, renewals and new member onboarding.
General member support: answer questions and address member requests or concerns.
Promote corporate membership and maintain a relationship with primary contacts.
Support chapters regarding recruitment and retention strategies and create resources, templates and guides to support each chapters’ membership and engagement efforts.
Assist with the creation and maintenance of all chapters and networks.
Work with and support the efforts of committees, the Chief Staff Officer and the Association as it relates to increasing membership and member engagement.
Create, manage and assist with the execution of a marketing plan that effectively supports the achievement of the organizations strategic plan.
Manages the day-to-day activities associated with all branding efforts including brand integrity, campaign tracking and reporting.
Develop and ensure execution of marketing efforts for major programs such as education programs, membership and conferences.
Facilitate internal and external communications with AFWA membership, partners, media and other vested stakeholders.
Responsible for design and content development for existing AFWA Web site as well as any new sites AFWA chooses to launch.
Develop an editorial calendar which effectively and consistently provides communication to members and contacts across multiple channels including social media, email marketing, and the website.
Prepare content and manage distribution list for monthly and quarterly communications.
Maintain, monitor, plan and promote all AFWA social media platforms to ensure growth of each platform.
Public Relations & Media
Develop press releases as required and provide oversight of all media relations.
Develop a targeted media relations plan, select consumer publications and other media that helps powerfully communicate AFWA’s vision and mission.
Strategic Alliances and Corporate Partnerships
Assist with the research of collaborative partnership opportunities with other associations and organizations that will provide added revenue and/or membership value.
Maintain a relationship with corporate partners to execute agreements and provide information regarding contract deliverables.
Develop and execute a strategic marketing plan to promote attendance, as well as a call for speakers and sponsors.
Create and tabulate speaker evaluations and overall event feedback.
Coordinate speaker promotions and assist with speaker logistics and support as needed.
Coordinate with event sponsors to execute deliverables and provide a performance report following the event.
Prepare the conference program and materials needed for distribution or display at the event.
Develop and manage the conference mobile app.
Coordinate the annual member and chapter awards program from the call for nominations, selection, and presentation.
Participate on all association Board, Foundation, and Committee calls to provide input and direction on strategic initiatives and offer staff support.
Maintain a relationship with chapter leaders to ensure required chapter forms are submitted in accordance with annual compliance standards.
Have a working knowledge of education program requirements and needs to offer support to members and chapters.
Submit compliance reports to maintain certification levels as required.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Ability to work in an office setting.
Position may require extended hours, including evenings and weekends, travel to multiple work sites and occasional out of town travel.
