This position will lead the social media strategy and execution for both member- and consumer-facing audiences. Responsibilities include content generation, scheduling posts, responding to followers, monitoring notifications, listening and engaging in relevant digital conversations and strategic channel and campaign management. This role also manages a digital member community (discussion forum) driving member engagement, fostering peer-to-peer communication, promoting our programs and overall creating a positive member experience.
ASDS is seeking a detail-orientated individual with exceptional communication skills and social media experience; a highly organized self-starter who can successfully multitask in a fast-paced environment; and a team player who can respectfully offer suggestions while also taking direction, problem solve and collaborate across multiple departments to achieve the organization’s new goals.
Manage and improve the organization’s existing social media profiles and presence, including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, LinkedIn, Pinterest and additional channels that may be deemed relevant for both member- and consumer-facing content.
Maintain a comprehensive content creation plan and production calendar in alignment with marketing campaigns and organizational needs.
Execute and deploy shareable content appropriate for specific networks to spread both the Society’s brand and content, aligned with campaign goals and audiences.
Listen and engage in relevant social discussions about the organization, its competitors and industry in both member- and consumer-facing audiences.
Drive consistent, relevant traffic and member leads from social networks to appropriate content on net and use social to grow consumer traffic to the ASDS online physician referral tool.
Define key performance indicators and use analytic tools to measure the audiences’ engagement defining how to measure success and driving continuous improvement.
Launch paid advertising campaigns across social media channels, manage return on investment and report success monthly and annually.
Monitor member community discussions and respond in a timely fashion, promote and evangelize community activities to ensure a productive exchange of ideas and positive member experience.
Support aligned member work groups in a staff liaison role as appropriate.
Responsible for reviewing, adhering and budgeting in areas of responsibility.
Participates in overall department planning and operational support to ensure tasks are obtaining both the department’s and organization’s goals and objectives.
Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Business or related field preferred.
Minimum of three to five years of experience in social media management, preferably in a membership association.
Strong demonstrated comprehension of social channels and all their functions including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube and LinkedIn and ability to identify new platforms that may be beneficial for the Society.
Proficient in communicating through graphic design and copywriting for different social media platforms and membership communities resulting in effective digital conversations and high engagement rates.
Solid understanding and applied experience using social media schedulers (Hootsuite or similar).
Experience creating social media campaigns, ad sets, offers and boosted posts on social media channels (example: Facebook Ads Manager).
Experience analyzing data, identifying trends, summarizing results and making recommendations based on findings.
Familiarity with digital community platforms (Higher Logic preferred).
Solid production, project management, organizational and analytical skills.
Strong customer service skills and ability to communicate with the public and efficiently collaborate with co-workers, member volunteers (dermatologists and their staff) and leadership.
Travels out of town and overnight and works evening/weekend hours when required (5-10%)
