OTA Senior Manager: Publications and Online Education
The Orthopaedic Trauma Association (OTA), is a professional medical association with a mission centered on education and research geared towards improving patient care. The association membership is comprised mainly of orthopaedic trauma surgeons. There are over 2,500 members, and approximately 20 committees.Headquartered in Rosemont, Illinois, the staff works in close collaboration with the leadership in implementing, promoting and continuous evaluation of society programs and initiatives. We seek a Publications and Online Education Senior Manager to join our team.
The OTA Publications and Online Education Senior Manager will serve as primary liaison to the OTA Publications Committee, and will oversee online education initiatives as assigned.
DUTIES AND RESPONSBILITIES:
Provide oversight for key projects of the OTA Publications Committee including:
OTA International (open access journal)
-Collaborate with the EiC, Digital Editor and Publisher in creating and implementing a marketing plan for the OTA’s new open access journal, with a goal of increasing published articles, and growing the overall readership and journal reach.
-Serve as primary liaison to the OTAI Editor in Chief (EiC). This includes everything from developing strategy, drafting correspondence for the EiC, overseeing an awards and waivers program, creating promotional marketing pieces and ppt’s, scheduling meetings and conference calls, etc.
OTA Video Library
- Manage the video library submission process (including creating and promoting a call for video submissions, tracking submissions, and coordinating the review process with the Video Review Committee).
- Collaborate with the OTA publisher in posting and maintenance of videos on the OTA’s online education portal. -Support the Video Library Committee in maintaining the video library; ensure topic gaps are filled and the review process for sunsetting outdated materials is in place. -Manage the upload and maintenance process of OTA Annual Meeting videos to the OTA education portal.
Oversee implementation and maintenance of planned and future projects including online textbooks.
Participate in developing industry relations and sales opportunities for the OTA educational portal.
Manage the following OTA online educational resources and projects:
Online discussion forum
Patient education webpage
7 years of association volunteer management experience desired (or other related office experience).
Proficient in Microsoft Office.
Excellent member service mentality and delivery; effective verbal and written communications; strong organization and interpersonal skills.Ability to think proactively and creatively.
Must excel in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.Flexible, supportive, and “can do” attitude is crucial to success.This person must have integrity and credibility with leaders, members, vendors, and staff.
Experience in online education development and/or knowledge of educational journal management.
Desired: CAE or IOM
Approximately 10 days of travel per year
