This position is responsible for facilitating the development and delivery of AANS educational programs, including live courses and enduring educational activities. The Education Coordinator provides grant administration and submission support; documents compliance with continuing education requirements; supports meeting logistics and oversees course administration, including on-site support/coordination for live, regional events. This position is also responsible for handling the AANS Joint Providership activities; working with volunteers to review applications and implementing programs that are approved.
Manages and oversees the coordination of jointly provided learning opportunities with external partners; gathering and developing documentation to demonstrate CME compliance.
Assists in the management of directly provided course offerings including faculty management; curriculum design; marketing and onsite coordination.
Coordinates production of course syllabi, collection of disclosure forms, A/V requests, mailings and development of ACCME required documentation for various education programs.
Manages event set-up in AANS association management system (AMS) database and AANS website for department programs, ensuring that all event logistics are included.
Travels to and provides on-site staff support for various education courses as well as the Annual Scientific Meeting, when needed.
Manages pre- and post-survey requirements, as needed, for educational programs.
Submits industry grant requests for educational programs, including the Annual Scientific Meeting.
Coordinates the day-to-day gathering of ACCME required documentation for all journal CME activities.
Assists with annual budget preparation by developing educational program budgets; monitoring processing and payment of expenses; ensuring budgeted revenue targets are measured and met throughout the year. Participates in annual forecasting exercises as needed.
Provides front desk reception coverage and switchboard relief as needed.
Performs other job related duties, as assigned by management.
College degree required.
2+ years of prior experience as program/educational coordinator, project management and meetings support. Previous association experience preferred.
Knowledge of ACCME Essentials and Standards.
Strong attention to detail, ability to demonstrate accuracy, efficiency, while working in a fast-paced team environment.
Excellent customer service skills.
Capable of managing many projects at once, working with multiple people and able to prioritize job tasks and independently manage one’s time to meet project deadlines.
Proficient in Microsoft Office, specifically Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint required.
