AWWA has a great opportunity for a high energy professional who has expertise in program development/management in a collegiate environment. In partnership with AWWA membership, chapter relations, and higher educational institutions, our Program Manager – Students & Young Professionals will develop, implement, and market membership and associated benefits to students and recent graduates.
Develop, implement, execute, and champion AWWA’s collegiate student member and recent graduate experience program
Develop collegiate student chapter program; provide resources and guidance to AWWA chapters to monitor and guide chapter growth
Develop and facilitate student programming through branded events, activities, and networking opportunities
Manage AWWA Young Professionals Volunteer Committee by providing guidance and support on YP conference planning, to various subcommittees and overseeing virtual committee meetings
Develop and manage effective relationships at higher-education institutions
Promote AWWA membership to students, recent graduates, and higher-education institutions
Collaborate with AWWA departments to support the development of training and education for college students in related educational programs
Develop mentorship programs and internship opportunities
NOTE: Position requires business travel of approximately 4 – 6 week-long trips/year.
Bachelor’s degree in related area or equivalent combination of education and experience with minimum of four (4) years’ program management experience (including developing, marketing, selling) required. Experience working with volunteers and/or in non-profit environment preferred
Experience analyzing data and using results to create and refine program development plans required
Demonstrated experience in relationship building/consultative sales strongly preferred
Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of collegiate environment required; knowledge of water field strongly preferred
Promotion or marketing experience preferred
Candidate must be detail-oriented with the ability to prioritize tasks and pro-actively meet deadlines. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are necessary to effectively manage partnerships with internal and external customers. Proficient in MS Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook required; strong database management skills highly desirable
Compensation based upon qualifications. Pay is targeted between $65,000 - $68,000. AWWA offers a comprehensive benefits package with immediate eligibility and vesting for retirement savings plan with a 3% company match and 6% employer contribution upon hire.
