The American Trucking Associations is in search of a hard-working and innovative leader to oversee their in-house membership department. The Vice President of Membership assists the Chief Commercial Officer with the development and formulation of long term and short-range planning, budgets, programs and objectives. The incumbent directs and monitors the daily department operations and manages the Headquarters staff to accomplish the goals of the membership strategic plan. This position interacts with ATA membership, ATA staff, and State Federation partners.
BS/BA Degree in marketing, sales, communications or related field.
Minimum of 10 years of membership/customer relations experience required, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Must have at least 5 years of management experience.
We are looking for candidates who are able to work with minimal supervision and perform multiple functions simultaneously. You must possess strong supervisory skills, proven strategic planning and implementation abilities. Ideally, you would have experience supervising a department. Must possess superior verbal and written communication skills, the ability to conduct business in a variety of business and social settings, ability to work well with people and a diverse industry, ability to understand and effectively ascertain and communicate complex membership dues schedules, issues and “rules”. Knowledge of membership database, Personify and Salesforce is highly preferred.
Professional Certification/Affiliations - Membership in professional group preferred, but not required.
