What this job is about:
The Conference and Meetings Program Specialist is responsible for providing support for the year-long cycle of planning, program development, and general program components as well as all activity related to workshop and abstract proposal submission, the continuing medical education (CME) process, and the post-meeting/ conference evaluation process.
Supports calls for abstracts and workshops process, including submission, review, selection, reporting, and the annual conference poster judging process.
Provides administrative support for the work of seven programming planning committees that develop conference content programming.
Responsible for all speaker communications, logistical needs, and presentation collection for annual conference.
Supports completion of the CME certification application process.
Manages online and apps-based meeting evaluation process and results.
Manages all aspects of the conference event app including event creation, session, speaker, presentation, exhibitor, and participant management.
What is required for this job:
Minimum two years of experience preferably in an association environment.
High school diploma required. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Ability to travel the equivalent of two weeks per year in order to staff meetings and conferences.
Ability to traverse large venues to provide onsite logistical support.
Ability to lift and carry boxes weighing up to 30 pounds.
Effectively work with committee leaders, scheduling calls and meetings, and taking notes.
Foster and build relationships within all levels of the organization.
Organized, self-directed, detail and deadline oriented.
Adapt quickly to new information, requirements, and priorities.
Exceptional written and oral communication skills
Intermediate proficiency using MS Office required. General association membership database experience a plus.
