The National Art Education Association (NAEA), a nonprofit organization representing visual arts education professionals worldwide, is seeking a creative professional with a diverse skill set to join our small, but mighty team. As an important part of the Communications & Creative Team, the Communications Design Coordinator will execute deliverables spanning print and digital platforms, including:
Design of print collateral with some promotional copywriting for the association and its various programs and opportunities, including: postcards, mailers, booklets, and print ads
Design, copywriting, and distribution of mass emails via the Constant Contact platform
Design of digital elements for the association website and additional online platforms
Dynamic presentation design
Design, copywriting, execution, and tracking of social media marketing campaigns
Collaboration on overall design concepts and branding for the annual NAEA National Convention and additional association programs and opportunities
Collaboration on marketing campaign planning and execution
Design and production coordination of imprinted items, including: t-shirts, lanyards, tote bags, and awards
Research and selection of quality archived and stock photos that are relevant to the stories told through successful designs
Assistance in tracking performance of promotional initiatives
The Communications Design Coordinator must possess:
A BFA/BA in Graphic Design, Communications, or relevant degree
3+ Years experience in print/digital design
Thorough knowledge of Adobe CC Suite (strong skills in Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign are a must), PowerPoint, and Microsoft Office
Knowledge of social media platforms (FB, IG, TW, LI) and experience in creating successful targeted, paid campaigns through Facebook Business Manager
Exceptionally strong design skills
Exceptionally strong written communications skills—experience with copywriting a plus
The ability to understand and interpret the tone of the NAEA community and association branding through words and images
Experience in pre-press preparation and proof review
Clear capacity for creative problem-solving
Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines
A sense of creative adventure and willingness to learn new platforms and skills on the fly
Strong attention to detail
Ability to work onsite at the NAEA Studio & Gallery in Alexandria, VA, as well as remotely.
Telecommuting is allowed.
