As NIGP’s Database Specialist, you will be responsible for development and support of the Institute’s Association Management System (AMS). This person will ensure the integrity, accuracy and completeness of the data and supporting tables contained in the AMS. The incumbent will stay up-to-date on the current releases of the AMS and identify opportunities for taking advantage of that functionality. Additionally, the incumbent is responsible for ensuring data interoperability between Abila netFORUM and other third-party systems that integrate via API. This individual will be required to work independently, without close supervision, and interact well with all levels of staff.
Your Key Responsibilities will be:
Builds and maintains API integrations
Customizes forms and workflows
Develops stored procedures for complex and ad-hoc reporting
Documents SOPs and development history
Works with Business Intelligence Analyst to maintain data integrity
Your Ideal Skills and Abilities:
Must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills and collaborate effectively
Experience with Abila netFORUM Toolkit highly preferred
Experience with SQL, SOAP, JSON
Proven experience successfully ensuring data integrity in a multi-user relational database environment
Ability to handle multiple demands, shifting priorities, rapid changes and adapt responses and tactics to fit fluid circumstances
Proven technical aptitude with a demonstrated ability to quickly learn new software applications
Demonstrated ability to effectively convey technical information to non-technical users verbally and in writing
Demonstrated ability to write clear and accurate technical documentation
Your Minimum Qualifications are: Any combination of education, experience and training equivalent to:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a technology-related field of study
Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience working with database systems in an enterprise environment
Minimum of 2 years practical experience in relational database theory and technology
Work experience within a non-profit association preferred
