POSITION SUMMARY The Communications and Marketing Coordinator will support the association’s communications strategy and marketing efforts. This position is responsible for developing content for the association’s social media and web platforms. This position will work collaboratively with all association staff on association wide projects.
This position is responsible for developing content for the association’s social media and web platforms. Additionally, this position will provide overall communications and marketing support for other association wide projects. Position objectives are to:
Assist in the development and implementation of the association’s media and communications strategy.
Help identify and develop innovative messaging, advertising, marketing collateral, and multi-media outreach, and campaigns utilizing the latest engagement technologies and strategies in support of the association’s communications strategy.
Assist in managing the development of marketing and promotional materials and content, such as toolkits, e-newsletters, social media posts, reports, and other materials.
Maintain the marketing plan and ensure project timelines are met.
Post content to generate online traffic and discussion. Increase loyalty of followers on a broad range of social media and networking channels.
Assist with developing and updating content for IACP websites to ensure formatting and voice consistency across pages and that general digital best practices are being followed to ensure maximum usability of the site.
Develop and coordinate regular membership email communications using marketing automation software.
Assist in supporting the association’s brand development and adherence to the brand.
Monitor current digital trends to implement best practices and maintain the organization’s competitive edge.
Maintain marketing analytics to understand campaign results and refine efforts.
Proofread communications and marketing materials.
Provide live social media coverage from internal and external events.
Provide support to IACP conference and programmatic marketing activities including assisting with the management of marketing calendars, strategies, and priorities.
Present new communication and marketing ideas to members of the team.
Other duties as assigned.
Bachelors’ degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, or relevant preferred.
Minimum three years of relevant experience.
Highly organized, hardworking, dynamic, and takes initiative.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment as well as be a self-starter and work independently.
Ability to manage multiple, ongoing projects in a fast-paced environment with varying deadlines.
Ability to think creatively about campaign and collateral development, while capturing themes and key points.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Attention to detail and ability to finalize products efficiently.
A familiarity with HTML and technologically flexible to work with a variety of platforms.
Ability to interact professionally with staff, members, and other stakeholders.
Exercises good judgment, and quickly identifies and resolves problems.
Occasional travel may be required
