Search underway for the Executive Vice President and CEO of RCI, Inc., whose mission is to advance the profession of building envelope (roofing, waterproofing and exterior wall) consultants. Founded in 1983, RCI is a headquartered in Raleigh, NC with 23 staff and a budget of $4 million. RCI’s current membership is over 3,500 and it boasts an international constituency residing across the United States, Canada, Australia, the West Indies, Europe, and Asia. The EVP and CEO will work closely with staff and volunteers to expand visibility for the association in the international arena and among related groups, build membership, provide technical expertise to consumers, and strengthen current educational programs-- including symposiums, the annual convention, and the monthly journal, Interface, a monthly newsletter (RCItems), and international, regional, and chapter events which provide interactive forums for information exchange and networking. In addition, RCI, Inc. is in the early stages of re-branding to the International Institute of Building Enclosure Consultants or IIBEC.
Qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree, preferably in management or business, and at least 7 to 10 years senior or executive-level trade association management experience. Knowledge of the building/construction industry preferred. Important to the success of the candidate will be excellent fiduciary and staff management skills, a strategic focus, advocacy experience, innovative leadership and an open and influential communication style.
