The National Association of Professional Insurance Agents (PIA), an organization located in Alexandria, VA representing independent insurance agents in all 50 states, Puerto Rico, and the District of Columbia, is seeking a highly motivated individual to join our team. The Director of State Association Management & Membership has a unique opportunity to oversee PIA operations within a number of states, working directly with a board of directors. This role is also responsible for designing and implementing a comprehensive membership campaign inclusive of prospecting, onboarding, and renewing members.
Provides daily management of states where PIA operates directly within the state or manages a component. This includes:
Engagement with component board of directors, strategic partners, and sponsors.
Instituting regular contact with PIA members and prospects.
Overseeing proper distribution of communications to PIA members within these respective states.
Being first point of contact for members and prospects.
Designing and implementing comprehensive membership campaigns that:
Showcase the value and return-on-investment of PIA membership.
Solicit new membership in PIA.
Renew existing PIA members.
Manage member data.

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
5-7 years’ association experience with an emphasis on membership
Mature judgment in dealing with multiple constituencies
Ability to facilitate and moderate meetings
Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
Strong writing, grammar and editing skills
Proficient in an Association Management System (AMS) and supporting Microsoft Office software
Proven ability to handle multiple priorities through hands-on project management
Able to work independently
Candidate must be able to manage projects from inception to completion with minimal oversight
A strong initiative and an attention to detail are a must
