CFA Institute seeks a Director, CPD Platform and Production, with a passion for creating beautiful, functional, cutting-edge, online educational content, delivered through a platform which has the member experience at its core. Working in close collaboration with content directors, the successful candidate will lead the CPD Platform and Production team and associated vendors to produce online CPD content in visual and written form for CFA Institute and Society members throughout the world. CPD will be organized within a competency framework designed by the Credentialing team and delivered through CFA Societies. The Director, CPD Platform and Production will work closely with Credentialing, Global Strategic Design and IT teams to create engaging learning experiences which leverage innovations in AI and educational technology. The CPD platform must integrate with technology across CFA Institute and Societies and provide for the easy tracking of CPD credits, progress towards career development goals, and badging for specific CPD achievements. The position will also collaborate closely with Services Delivery to leverage expertise in design, marketing and customer experience.
The Director, CPD Platform and Production will report to the Head, CPD Products and will be based in Charlottesville, New York or London.
Own, develop, communicate and execute CFA Institute’s online content production
Lead a dynamic team to create, develop and administer the delivery of online educational content; provide leadership to ensure effective translation of instructional material
Responsible for delivering an amazing customer experience through the platform; understand customer pain points and define solutions
Understand business requirements and success metrics; define platform priorities, measures and goals
Participate in the strategic planning and formulation of CFA Institute’s CPD content development and delivery plans
Implement processes and workflows for effective content production and review both before and during development.
Accountable for setting and working to financial expectations, production budgets and schedules across multiple projects, including RFPs, contracts etc. and provide ongoing vendor management
Work with internal QA teams and vendors to develop and coordinate testing
Work with production and engineering vendors to develop each component to the fullest potential of digital/mobile delivery.
Collaborate with the Director of CPD Online Learning, instructional designers, the creative services team, and vendors to support ongoing operations.
Manage showcase learning experiences and media to ensure that goals to produce the instructional content are clearly conveyed through educational design, interface and navigation, and production values of the deliverables
Translate requirements into defined specifications; collaborate with the design, creative services and technical teams to translate requirements into defined specifications and assure that final programs adhere to the programmatic and instructional design principles.
Provide expertise and leadership on new and emergent media, processes, high impact pedagogy, content management and production standards and processes.
QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree in a related field
Minimum 10 years’ experience in a digital design environment, preferably in a financial industry context
At least 5 years of experience developing online educational content, including the application of instructional design principles
Experience developing educational products that incorporate adaptive technologies, assessment, and individualized technology driven instruction, preferably in a global context
Demonstrable experience leading content or media production team, including direct reports, cross-functional/divisional team and external vendors, managing through the team to deliver online educational content across multiple geographies
Ability to understand the CFA Institute member’s mindset and demonstrate relentless dedication to detail
Practical understanding of teaching and learning concepts, educational trends and research
Skilled in developing and maintaining organizational processes and workflows
Ability to manage complex production budgets and report on ROI of related decisions
Ability to proactively and creatively solve problems related to content development
Demonstrated experience managing content or media development projects with many stakeholders across multiple geographies
Familiarity with the AGILE development process
Comfortable with ambiguity; can effectively cope with change and shift direction as needed to address solutions to emerging problems and needs
Full time in the office
Energy to put in the hours of concentrated work necessary to achieve goals while maintaining a positive attitude
Travel will be approximately 10 percent of the time
