The Technology Student Association, a small non-profit education association, is seeking an experienced marketing manager to work in its Reston, VA office approximately30 to 35 hours per week. This is not a tele-commuting position. Consultants or contractors need not apply.
Working with program managers and the creative team, the marketing manager will produce and execute marketing and communication strategies and campaigns. Establish a cohesive “voice” and “look” for all marketing and communications efforts, both internal and external, encompassing traditional and virtual strategies to promote the organization’s brand and programs.
Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to; assisting colleagues with the development of program collateral materials. Creating print and virtual promotional materials, press releases, and articles. Website and social media content strategy and management. Assessing analytics and identifying strengths and weaknesses in existing and on-going marketing and communication efforts.
Requirements include, but are not limited to; a Bachelor’s degree with a concentration in marketing/communications and three to five years of professional public relations or marketing experience – preferably for a non-profit organization. Candidates with experience in secondary education and/or the STEM community are highly encouraged to apply. Strong writing, editorial, and verbal skills and the ability to multi-task are needed. Advanced knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite is preferred.
Approximately two weeks of annual travel should be expected. The position reports to the TSA executive director. There is paid leave, a 401K program, however, no healthcare benefits. This is an hourly paid part-time position.

The Technology Student Association (TSA) is a national, non-profit youth orgainzation of 250,000 middle and high school technology students who are engaged in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM). Since 1978, almost 4,000,000 student members have participated through challenging competitions, leadership opportunities, and community service. TSA offers more than 60 intra-curricular STEM contests to middle and high school students across the nation. All competitions are correlated with national STEM standards.
