Membership and Partnerships:
Developing and managing annual marketing and data strategies, policies, and tactical plans focused on member acquisition and retention meeting / exceeding established membership recruitment goals. Includes managing relationships with internal and external service providers to ensure the highest level of service
Developing and managing annual marketing plan, strategies, and programs focused on securing and retaining institutional partnerships (universities, centers for Latin American studies, libraries, advocacy organizations, etc.)
Communicate membership benefits, programs and services to LASA members and prospective members, with the goal of increased recruitment, retention, and engagement
Develop and periodically update content, informational webinars, applications, website content, and other documents and processes related to membership
Recommend and implement changes to processes that will improve member satisfaction and operational efficiency.
Provide timely and effective resolution to member issues and advise senior management on full range of member-related matters
Develop, implement and monitor member recognition programs
Design and manage systems to engage LASA’s stakeholders, assess membership trends and track customer service impact.
Manage and review membership data periodically to ensure accuracy
Manage social media campaigns in coordination with Communications Director to enhance membership and prospect communication
Work with prospective members, sponsors, and partners to gain a clear understanding of their needs, and develop customized sponsorship proposal packages to obtain their support and acquire new revenue for the Association. This includes working with the Director of Operations in preparing forecasted revenue in membership and sponsorship
Career Center and Mentoring Programs
Planning, developing and managing a multifaceted Career Center
Providing support of mentoring programs as necessary
Perform other duties as assigned
Masters degree preferably in marketing, public relations or a relevant field
Qualifications, Skills and Abilities:
10+ years of experience in association or nonprofit management with at least 5 years of experience in association membership marketing and outreach
Spanish and English proficient. Portuguese desired.
Knowledge of marketing principles to drive value and growth of LASA’s membership, partnership and sponsorships
Proven track record of results in securing and maintaining membership and sponsorship agreements as well as growing revenue
Demonstrated entrepreneurial skill and creativity
Demonstrated success in designing/ managing systems to track market penetration and engagement trends
Exceptional organizational, verbal, written, interpersonal communication, and management skills
Ability to understand, develop and manage complex budgets
Excellent computer skills and knowledge of MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, PowerPoint)
Knowledge of online survey tools – ideally Qualtrics
Knowledge of technology-based solutions (e.g. CRM) to address the position’s requirements.
Energetic self-starter results oriented and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced office environment
Ability to multi-task and work independently and efficiently under deadline
Ability to work in a small team
