The MBA AMS Administrator is responsible for ensuring effective operations and maintenance of MBA’s Association Management System (AMS), and its integration with various 3rd party and custom applications. In doing so, the incumbent will help ensure that MBA staff maximize the out-of-the-box capabilities of the AMS, and in the process limit the number of costly customizations.
Working at the direction of the Associate Director – Business Solutions, and in partnership with MBA’s vendor partners, the incumbent will have overall responsibility for system upgrades, enhancements and reactive maintenance, managed within the construct of a system development lifecycle methodology and reactive operational support services, processes and procedures.
The incumbent will combine technical competence and hands-on skills in supporting the applications, with an expectation that s/he will have deep expertise as it relates to configuring the system to support business processes. The AMS Administrator will also be responsible for developing and maintaining reports, queries and other systems functionalities, which will require a detailed understanding of the underlying data structure.
The incumbent will work closely with MBA business process owners, understanding and documenting those process, and developing AMS-based solutions and training.
Work directly with MBA staff to understand and document functional requirements and help translate them into integrated solutions
Lead the design and implementation of AMS upgrades, and ensure optimal use of the features available in the system
Lead the development of timelines and budgets related to AMS implementation, upgrade and support
Configure and set-up AMS and 3rd party applications to meet defined requirements
Help establish and maintain security standards related to the AMS application and its integrated components.
Develop and deliver hands-on classroom-based training to staff in response to user needs
Develop and deliver AMS support tools for staff
Create/modify reports in Crystal, and SSRS, and baseline reporting functionality.
Use tools and/or SQL scripts to help troubleshoot issues, primarily with reporting and data analytics
Create end-user documentation
Document system configuration changes and keep up to-date
Performs application testing, including testing of integrations between and 3rd party or MBA custom developed products
Documents and maintains business processes that involve the use of MBA’s AMS.
Maintains advanced knowledge of system modules, features and functionality
Perform other duties as assigned
5-7 years of experience implementing and supporting AMS installations with heavy focus on Membership, Dues, Events, Product, Store, Fundraising, Content Management, and AR/Cash functionality.
2-3 years of experience working with Aptify preferred.
Ability to develop a basic report in either SSRS, Crystal, Aptify Views, Microsoft Access or Business Objects
Basic knowledge of SQL
Experience integrating AMS system (or equivalent) with 3rd party software vendors
Experience developing workarounds for key requirements not met by a solution
Experience documenting process flows and business requirements
Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
Mortgage banking experience is a plus
