The Director of Finance assists the CFO with all phases of the financial activities of the Society including financial management & control, reporting, and internal auditing.
Management, oversight, and reporting for Federal and private grant monies received by ASCP
Complete monthly financial statement preparation and monitor all financial transaction processing.
Preparation of monthly financial statements for other organizations managed by ASCP
Preparation of governmental reporting including preparation of IRS 990, 1099, all relates state reporting for sales tax, etc.
Preparation of annual IRS form 990 tax return statements for other organizations managed by ASCP
Provide direction, review and monitor all activity related to Project Management and cost accounting systems.
Ensure timely reconciliation and preparation of all financial activities
Ensure adherence to GAAP and established internal accounting controls.
Assist Division Directors with budgeting and budget analysis
Manage preparation of annual audit schedules and coordinate annual audit with external accounting firm.
Participate in society wide projects to ensure proper financial controls exist as they relate to revenue generation and expense reporting.
Participate broadly in all ASCP activities as appropriate in order to manage the profitability of the organization.
Review, prepare and monitor all activity related to assets and asset schedules
Coordinate the administration of all functions relating to Cash and Order Processing, Accounts Payable and Project Management, Payroll, General Accounting, and Budgeting.
Train and develop staff.
Work with ASCP staff to monitor and evaluate revenues and expenses.
Assist in maintenance of banking and investment relationships. Ensure reconciliation of Bank and Investment accounts to the General Ledger
Assist finance staff in improving systems and resolving problems.
Educational Background: BS/BA Accounting required. MBA/Master's of Accountancy and CPA preferred
Work Experience: Five to seven years in a managerial accounting environment with a thorough knowledge of banking, investments and tax reporting as well as management and marketing. In addition experience with an A-133 Audit is required
Special Training/Skills: Strong computer skill preferred. Knowledge of MS Dynamics, Excel, and other related software programs highly desirable.
Physical Abilities: Strong customer service skills and customer experience management for both the internal clients and external clients that require frequent phone or face-to-face contact.
